water vs tea. soda, juice

hi!
new here, this is my first q...
when i add a tea and splenda to my daily food, does that automatically add that amount of water to my daily suggested (8) glasses of h2o?
if so, why doesn't it show up on the glass-graph at the bottom of the page?
thanks,

No it does not add the water to your glass count. Just add manually.

    Hi,

    Welcome to MFP!

You have to manually add each glass of H2O to the graph. I don't count my tea as a glass of H2O, though. I only count plain H2O or H2O with crystal light. Hope this helps.

    Hi.

The drinks you add to your diary do not automatically get added to the water counter so you will have to update these yourself, as the system doesnt define between different types of foodstuffs - its purely based on the nutritional value of the input data. I personally don't think of the fluid in these drinks as 'water', as things like tea / coffee contain caffine which is a diuretic and can make you pee more than plain old water would (which could cause dehydration when consuming lots i.e. 5-6 cups a day). If i'm having squash (diluted jiuce) then I do add this as both water and calories. Hope this sheds some light !
