Can someone explain this to me - and tell me how I should how to calculate it and what it means. Does it show up on my HRM?

    Its the maximum amount of Oxygen ur body actually takes in and uses.


    15(Heart Rate max/ Heart Rate Rest). Personally i wouldnt bother with it.

    We tested this in exercise phys last term. You need a stop watch,a heart rate monitor, another person to record and to man the treadmill for you. It works best if you have oxygen going too. It is a whole process, but we did it without O2. So anyhow, I would need to find my paper, but you put yourself at a comfortable running pace and I think it was every minute you inclined the treadmill. You had to record the heart rate and the incline and the minutes and then there is a whole formula to figure out your percentage. It is rather interesting.

    The calorie calculator I use by putting my HR and time in as a spot for V02 Max, I played with it and it REALLY changed the calorie burn numbers. I was trying to figure out if I knew what the answer really was to get a more accurate calorie burn number. My HRM only gives me calories when the GPS is on and I"m moving.
