Walking Works !

My weight has always fluctuated... up, than down...up, than down. When I started walking, my weight went down, and STAYED down. If you walk at least 3 times a day, (for at least 45 minutes) you will see weight loss results... Everyone is different of course, but walking works for everyone. You may see results sooner than others, or maybe later, but it DOES work !
During the winter months, I walk on our treadmill, which can be kind of boring. If you can find some fast, upbeat music, that'll keep you going. It'll actually make you want to do more than the 45 minutes you should do.
During Spring, Summer, and Fall is the BEST time to walk. You can walk around your neighborhood, plan different routes, with different environments, you can walk trails, you can hike. You can walk outside in nature, feeling great about yourself!!
I always found any kind of exercise to be boring .. .BUT, if you want to lose weight and keep it off, you'll find a way to make it more exciting and fulfilling

I swear by walking also.
Don't forget the walk at home workout dvds. I do the Leslie Sansone 5 mile fat burning walk. It is good for those rainy days. Leslie's voice gets on my nerves, but it isn't anything a little bit of music and a mute button can't fix!

My husband and I have been walking eveyday for almost 4 months and we are both losing weight and inches, plus we have the best conversations while we walk!0

I'm with you! Walking works! I have a goal of 60miles in March! So far I have walked 14.5 miles! I lost 14lbs last summer walking, But gained it back when my Mother passed away in November! Finally back on track! I really enjoy walking in 5k races too! They are very inspiring! Just wish I had someone to walk with in my little town! Nobody seems to want to walk! Or they walk 30 min or less and are ready to quit!0

Weather (and daylight) permitting, I walk with my dog 2 miles in the morning before work even though it makes me have to get up at 4:45 am. Not only does it get me going, but his behavior during the day when he is home alone is so much better when we walk. Because I live on the East Coast of the US, my morning walks had to cease during the winter. Since Daylight Savings Time begins this weekend, I hope to resume my morning walks starting next week.0

If you can't do 45 minutes to start. Start with 15 minutes 3 times and work your way up to 45 minutes. I have lost 75 pounds with walking. As summer comes in you can also walk behind a push mower it burns a ton of calories. Walking totally works. :flowerforyou:0

I, too, enjoy walking, be it on my treadmill, on the street or a track or even doing my Leslie Sansone DVDs. I have found that a pedometer is very motivating and started wearing one about 8 years ago. Since that time, I don't leave my house without it. On the very rare occasion, I forget it, I feel lost - like something's really missing. Here in Philly the weather will break soon and I'll resume walking with my dog. Walking is the most natural exercise, no fancy equipment needed, just a good pair of walking shoes and a will to stay in shape. To your good health . . .:drinker: :flowerforyou:0
