I never ate Maccas much to begin with or KFC maybe once a year I had them if that. I live in a small country town where there are no temptations like that thank goodness.0
-
yeah i do but i make sure to hve somethink that is within my calorie count :P0
-
like once every 2 months....still within my calories. I know it's not good calories but I crave a BigMc every now and then0
-
I hate the sickly bloated feeling you have after you eat a maccas or kfc, so I never really ate it before..... but i must admit to loving thai food takeaways.... chicken laksa and chicken hokkien noodle... YUM.... probably just as bad though :-(0
-
I don't.....too many calories and leaves me still feeling hungry not long after.
However, in the past when I've had Maccas after I haven't eaten it for a while, you can feel the layer of grease on your lips and on the roof of your mouth for ages afterwards (well I can anyway).0 -
What in the world is a "macca"?!0

I’ve never heard of it, either. And google didn’t help.0 -
When I read it at first I thought "Who eats macaques?" But I've got monkeys on the brain....
It's a question about McDonalds' food.0 -
I do, with a young family the kids want to eat it, so I just incorporate into my daily calories.0
-
LOL! What is a macca?? I had to rub my eyes and reread. Thought it said - does anybody eat macaws??? LOL
(I have macaws)0 -
It's a question about McDonalds' food.
Clearly, I am getting old and am not hip to what the kids are calling Mcdonalds these days. If say Mickey D’s will everyone know I’m over 30?0 -
Oh my. I'm from the old school, too.
I was thinking it was some kind of wonderful tropical fruit or something.
Sheesh. McDonald's. Who knew.0 -
I think this might be a geographical thing.0

I realized that Maccas seems to be an Australian term for Mcdonalds, that's what we say instead of Mickey D's.
I do.0 -

I think you are correct
I do when I am out and about. There are healthier options like seared chicken wraps. Get it with a salad and a water and it's healthier than subway.
In fact, I feel just fine going to a large chain like Maccas where I know the nutritional values of their stuff as opposed to going to some random fast food joint that you really have to guess with.0 -
Heh - I knew what "maccas" meant from being on here, but for a long time to me, "Macca" was a reference to Paul McCartney by die hard fans.
Haven't had any McD's in two months since starting this little weight loss/exercise journey. I have had pizza twice in that stretch - but only two slices each time, and healthier variations. I have been pretty good about just choosing not to eat fast food, though it sure would have been easier and more convenient to do so a couple of times.0 -
Yes but within my calorie goal.....to me cutting out any food is not a good idea, and as long as its all in moderation there shouldn't be a problem0
-
Ha!!!! I totally did not get the McD's thing. I was thinking maybe it was a type of exotic fruit until junk food was mentioned and I'm thinking, "huh????"
Actually I hate McD's. If I'm going for junk food burgers I want Carl's Jr. or In N Out (or in Austin, P. Terry's, which is the closest we can get to In N Out).0 -
haha, i would have thought "maccas" was a generic term. but i guess ive heard "mickey d's" in some american tv/movies
good thing i didnt say "Hungry Jack's" (that is what burger king is called here)0 -
I indulge within my calorie limit. I feel like if I am depriving myself of what I crave, I won't stick to this. My portions are SOOOOO much smaller, and I don't eat fries or mayo at all. I like the grilled honey mustard wrap with a side salad and lit balsamic. Less han 400 calories!0

Google images for it, you'll know right away, lol.0 -
My daughter and I meet with friends EVERY friday for a playdate at McDonalds, so yes I still eat there, but WAY less often! I use to go there 3 days or more a week, yikes! Another difference is instead of ordering a Big Mac meal with a large coke (and sometimes even add on a desert), I order a two cheeseburger meal with coke zero that I SHARE with my daughter, she has one cheeseburger, I have the other, we share the fries! LOVE my McDonalds and don't plan on ever cutting it all the way out, lol.0

I eat out at fast food restaurants very rarely these days however with traveling at least 2-3 days a month makes that tough. I just got home from a weekend trip where I went to a fast food restaurant twice. I just got the grilled chicken sandwich (with no mayo, etc...) and a small fry and maybe a diet coke.
I tell my girlfriend all the time how back in high school (when I was playing 3 sports a year) me and my brother used to get the Classic Triple with Bacon and Cheese only, bigge sized with a FF soda. I don't have any idea how I didn't completely balloon back then.
Just be careful with it. If you live a busy life then it isn't always easy to completely avoid these places just do your best to make sure you don't overdo it.0 -
am i the only one who saw 'macca' and thought chocolate covered macadamia nuts?0
-
I simply thought it was a misnomer for plain macadamia nuts.0
-
Every once in a while, when I have a huge craving for it. I usually get a Happy Meal and add on the nice(ish) lettuce and tomato that come on some of the bigger burgers.0

I find it so interesting how each Country has their terms and sometimes we understand one another and sometimes we're clueless. :flowerforyou:
It all works out great in the end:drinker:0 -
When you google Maccas the first thing that comes up is McDonalds. McDonalds even advertise "Wake up to the taste of a warm Macca's breakfast"0
