Carbonation

Ok i have asked many people but no one can give me a straight answer. To change it up sometimes i like to get Clear American waters from wally world (Wal-mart) for people that aren't used to that name. The waters have no sodium, no calories, no caffeine, and no sugar - so it's better than diet soda. What i want to know is if carbonation affects weight loss? i know sodium does usually affect it that's why they say not to drink a lot of diet soda but these waters have nothing in them, just like seltzer water, which i drink as well but i wanna know about carbonation. Any thoughts or true knowledge of the subject?

I googled this if it helps.
Does Carbonated Water Cause Weight Gain?
Answer: Carbonated water, in its purest form, does not cause weight gain. The only instance that carbonated water may influence weight gain is in the presence of additives such as sugar, artificial sweeteners, sodium, or additional calories.
More Info: Carbonated water is merely water that has carbon gases added to it. This gas is present in the form of carbonic acid, which may cause some people to drink it to feel fuller and more satisfied. If that is the case, it can possibly assist with weight loss efforts.
Carbonated water may come in the form or pure or mineral water. Mineral water is simply pure water with added minerals that are beneficial to your health. The human body needs plenty of water in order to function properly. The amount of water needed each day varies from person to person, depending on factors such as size, medical conditions, age, amount of exercise, and the climate where you live. As an example if you exercise consistently, live in a hotter or dryer climate, are pregnant or breastfeeding, or if you are sick, you should consume additional amounts of water each day.
For some, the idea of drinking so much water is not appealing. Carbonated water offers variety, and as long as no sugar or other ingredients have been added, contains no calories to contribute to weight gain. Drinking carbonated water throughout the day, including before and after meals, may help you to feel fuller, take the edge off hunger, and consume fewer calories.

I'm a carbonated water addict... love the fizz, but who needs flavoring/additives. I use a SodaStream soda maker (CO2 added to water, that's it). I asked my nutritionist about it, and she said drink up! It counts toward my water intake, and since it has no additives is a free item. Gotta have my fizzy water!0

I love Hansens all natural diet sodas and they are zero everything as well. It can't effect you if there is nothing in it to effect you with. It's basically like drinking water. (but don't ever replace it with water!) And I actually like it in between meals because the carobnation helps fill me up more! Soda water is just that. Water with bubbles. Nothing more.0

I would google "artificial sweetener insulin response" to see the list of articles showing that even if you consume a beverage with zero calories, if it is artificially sweetened your body still has an insulin response, meaning it perpetuates your sweet tooth and doesn't reduce your chance of getting diabetes. What is Wally water sweetened with?
For me personally it has been difficult to kick the soda habit - I was swigging 2-liter bottles of room temperature Tab through high school, college and my first decade in the working world, and have now been almost four years drinking less than a 12-pack per year. When I have one once in a while, I crave them for weeks afterward. Even having a beer can stimulate my diet coke taste buds so I just have to turn away.
There are a few kinds of tea that are naturally sweet - especially the herbal lemon/mint and orange/mint varieties - that are worth a try. Nestea also sells instant unsweetened tea so you can slowly reduce the sweetness you have to add to make it taste good, but it has caffeine. When you switch to tea, you don't have all those extra plastic bottles to toss when you are done.
Good luck - hang in there! LNY0
