Anyone out there in MFP world have any suggestions on exercises for my inner thigh muscles. I am doing high impact aeobics and cycling to help with overall weightloss, but would like to supplement with some exercise to stegthen my inner thighs...Thanks in advance for the help.

Lets keep shedding those pounds!

if you go to the gym get do the adductor...it works you inner thigh muscles or you can go buy this v shaped or there is a circle shaped thing...can't think of the name of it and use that along w/ cardio.... My inner things are my issue too and using the machine at the gym has toned me up so much...i also get on the Precor and do 65 minutes of cardio too....good luck!

I have a Pilates Circle which works basically like the Thigh Master. I haven't used it in a long time but when I did for whenever I remembered for the day, and for many weeks I lost a lot there. Not sure how much. I should probably look for that thing, it worked wonders.

place your ankle or knees (depends on your fitness level) on the outside of chair legs and squeeze. You'd be amazed at the results and strength I've see people achieve with that move. It is also one that can be snuck in so many times and places when other exercises wouldn't be convenient.
  • Lunges and squats. I do a ton of them and my legs reeeeally benefited from them. There are so many varieties, from backward lunges, forward lunges, prop one foot on a chair and do lunges. Jump squats (like jumping jacks, but you're squatting). Wall squats (sit against the wall on an invisible chair at a 90 degree angle.. ouch!). One leg wall squats (double ouch). All of these will make you sweat like crazy and you will feel the burn like nothing else, but you'll get better results than from those silly leg machines they have at the gym. I used to do those machines and I messed up my knee for a good year. I stay far away from machines now.

I have very weak inner thigh muscles. Have been told at the gym to squat, squat. squat......and then squat some more. Also, lie on your side with knees bent & ankles together (legs in line with hips), then lift top leg keeping ankles together.

Your inner thigh is basically made up of several small muscles listed here http://www.criticalbench.com/adductor-muscles.htm, squats and lunges will hit them to a degree depending on how you perform those exercises but using a gyms hip abductor/adductor machine, http://www.panattasport.com/en/product.asp?ID=50100, will hit them the hardest since it is specifically designed for abductors and adductors. If you have never used the machine, start off light, because it is not fun having DOMS there lol.

  • Try doing squats, I do these for that same reason. You can also do lunges.
