I am getting ready to start this journey of joining the gym and losing some weight, however I need a good sports bra or at least one that is comfortable to work out in. I'm willing to spend the money on something if it's comfortable, fits and can hold "my girls" in place. Does anyone have any suggestions? Thank you!!

I got my sports bra from walmart and it works fine. I personally didn't invest to much in it since I am in the process of loosing weight.

I know what you mean. Support is essential! I used to be a 34DDD...I got surgery and am now a 36C, but still really need the support to keep the girls from moving. I went to Kohls. The bras are about $30, but definatly worth it!!

Yep, Walmart has some Great Sports Bras! If you want to spend more money, Sports Authority has some great ones too!

there are a few threads on this. A lot depends on how big you are. I get mine at Target (The C9 ones. They are on sale this week!). But for larger breasted women, try www.titlenine.com. They've gotten great reviews and have an awesome return policy as well.

if you are a "C" or below -- I HIGHLY recommend the C9 brand from Target -- they are $15-$20 (depending on whether they are on sale or not) and they work great -- I use mine for running (anything from a 5K to a half-marathon) and my girls stay locked in....plus, it is dry-wick so it keeps me dry and mostly stink-free.... hope that helps :-) Good luck!!!!

My favorite sports bra also came from WalMart - it's nothing special either. I'm only a D now but prior to losing weight my ladies were much larger and I found wearing a regular bra under a sports bra provided me with the best support.

good luck! I've been looking myself. I just wear my regular bra because I get more support from it. In the past I have worn 2 sports bras layered over each other.

I have a couple of Danskin sports bras that work really good. I got them at the BX on-base, but you can probably find them at Sports Academy or a similar store. I also have a VS sports bra that I got on sale. It works good as well.

I have tried Walmart sports bras, but they don't give me enough support (I'm a C cup). Hope this helps.

I am a 34DD and I have tried the more expensive ones but the target ones work just as well for me.
  • Ditto on the Walmart! You're going to be losing weight so you dont want to invest too much...save that money for AFTER you lose the weight for a trip to Victorias Secret!! Thats what I'm gonna do...only lost 8 lbs and its already time for me to make another trip to Walmart :)
  • I agree, Kohls is a great place to get sports bras that are supportive and give your girls and nice lift at the same time!!! I paid about $30 but def. worth it!!!

I got mine from Nike. I'm a D cup. I hate the cheap ones from Walmart because they were not supportive enough, nor did they hold them in place. I LOVE the Nike one. I cannot recommend it enough. Here is the link: http://store.nike.com/us/en_us/?cp=USNS_KW_0611081618&l=shop,home#l=shop,pdp,ctr-inline/cid-1/pid-363752/pgid-318471
  • I bought mine from TJ Maxx. I forgot what brand they were, but they work great! I love the sports bras from Kohl's but I know the chest area is one of the first you lose from so I don't want to spend more then $10 on one.

For what it's worth, after much hesitation my husband talked me into buying the "Ta-Ta Tamer" (yes, that's actually what it's called!) from Lululemon. It's AWESOME!!! I too am in the upper DD range and this bra is amazing. Seriously ladies, it's worth the $58 (Canadian)! Most awesome sports bra I've ever owned! I did buy mine so that it does up on the last set of clasps so that I will hopefully be able to wear it for a few months but will purchase another one when this one is too big.

shock absorbers are really good but expensive. In the Uk I get a M&S own make thats v good, I find the ones witha sports back are the most effective.

Hi, Ive got a few shock absorber (34DD) ones and they are good, I wash them once or twice a week and last well. Esp the last one I got as it was a navy/purple (the others are silver and white and can look a little grubby).

Ive tried M & S and Next but none have matched it. I think they are wortht the money.xx

Moving Comfort has a couple good styles for the larger breasted. I have to double up still since I'm a G cup and there isn't anything I've found that's supportive enough by itself. Happy bra shopping :P

I'm in the D range, and have found the UnderArmor sports bras work perfectly for any kind of exercise. They are the only ones that I'll wear anymore! Good luck!

I wear a sports bra under a tanktop with a bra shelf in it. I find doubling up like this keeps the girls in place and there is very minimal bounce. I find the larger sports bras, vs the ones that are more bra sized, work better as well.

The best support comes from wearing more than one sports bra I believe. When I was in boot camp our instructor made females with a certain cup size wear more than one sports bra. I'm not huge in that area or anything (im pretty regular) but I would even wear 3 sports bras. Not 3 fancy bras, but the simple sports bras from walmart. It would help with our run time's and other extra movements with them confined in that manner.

OMG! How can any of you even consider 2 or even 3 bras? That sounds ridiculously uncomfortable and HOT! I'm a DD and wear one bra. Find a good one that fits, and use it. I'm a runner, do a lot of HIIT and have never had an issue.
