Yea, those lean cuisines are not low carb in any way, plus full of sodium. It depends on how many carbs you are willing to consume---I eat 80-100 a day, and I would have lean protein and veggies, maybe a slice of very low carb bread, again depends on what numbers you want. Don't be afraid of lots of lean protein---they will fill you up more than any carb will and plus they won't make your blood sugar rise.

I LOVE La Tortilla Factory Smart&Delicious tortillas for making your own wraps.......omg they are soooo yummy! and they are low carb/high fiber so you need not feel too guilty about having one for lunch:) I usually fill mine with1-2 oz. grilled chicken, romaine lettuce, red onion, tomato and green bell pepper with a dab of mayo. It ends up being close to 300 calories. Have that with a hard boiled egg, or your choice of low carb veggie/fruit side and you're set. Thats one of my favorite lo carb lunches the total net carbs are only about 4g-(which is mainly the tortilla) hope this idea helps:) good luck!

I want to consume maybe around 100-120 carbs a day. I just need to take a long trip to a grocery store lol.

you'll do best to stick to the outer edges of the store and not go down the inner isles---they are carb loaded :)

Eat 6 meals a day and concentrate on having about 15 carbs at each meal give or take a few, which is what I do and has been very successful for me. Again, concentrate on those proteins and veggies--and you'll do fine.

I've just had my lunch which came in at 15 g carbs.

I had a big bowl of salad - rocket, spincah and watercress, with a chopped tomato, cucumber and red pepper, in a tablespoon of lo-cal dressing. Along with that I had a small bowl (about 1/2 cup) of homemade chili - tomatoes, kidney beans, courgettes, mushrooms and onions. An even lower carb option would be to swap the bean dish for somehting like chicken soup, or ratatouille.

I don't know if you pack lunch or buy lunch, but I run down to Chipotle (or Qdoba) and grab a burrito bol, no rice, pinto beans, chicken, sour cream, cheese and lettuce. 20 net carbs. Tastes awesome!

I think its hard to eat low carb and low calorie, without only eating salads. Because meat is really low carb...but high calorie a lot of the time. Anyhoo...that's my 2 cents...on to actual food ideas. lol

Homemade Hamburger without the bun, pack up all the sides tomato, pickle, lettuce, mustard etc in a separate container (maybe with a side of salad), that way you can nuke your burger in the microwave then add on all the toppings. You can also make super thin (I'm talking like pancake thin) burgers...and make a burger sandwich... (cook the burgers the day before, but cook them rare (still a little pink inside) ...this usually makes it so they will be well done after microwaved but not hard and dry lol)

BLT salad. Granted its still SALAD but its really yummy. 3 cups lettuce, 1 whole tomato, 4-6 pieces of bacon, 1 tbsp light mayo mixed in good. When you look for bacon just try to find the lowest calorie one.

Grilled Chicken. Grill up 2-3 chicken breasts and pre-make your lunches. Then you can put any kind of low carb/ healthy side with them. Like steamed veggies, salads etc.

Steak...4 oz. You can do the same thing as the chicken.

Hard boiled eggs....deviled eggs...egg salad.....most of that is low carb. lol

That's all i can think of off the top of my head lol.

--- Oh soups. Look for low carb soup recipes. Because you can pre-make 2-3 different kinds of soup, freeze them, and then just grab and go for your lunch.

I usually wrap a lettuce leaf around 3 oz. of turkey and half an avocado. The avocado is so creamy you don't even need dressing. I don't know about the packaged turkey slices, but I get Boar's Head from the deli and it's delicious and has 0 carbs.

If you have a microwave and have time to make dinner the night before, I just tried the Roasted Portobello Mushroom Caps with Gruyere Cheese recipe on the Atkins website. DELICIOUS and you can just stick them in the fridge and rewarm one the next day for lunch. Only 6 or 7 net carbs I believe. I'm making another one of their recipes tonight, a seafood stew, that is supposed to come in around 5 net carbs per serving. They have some really great recipes that vary in net carb level.

If you're into salad, they have a great recipe for Lemon Viniagrette that's really easy and only 1.5 net carbs. I pour a Tbsp. of that onto two cups of lettuce with 1/2 c. grape tomatoes and 3 oz. Tyson's Ready Grilled chicken breast warmed up in the microwave.
