I've been told that sitting on a fitness ball instead of a chair can help tone your abs, anyone tried this? I thought I'd give it a go (on top of all the other cardio and strenght training at the gym)

ive heard that too....interested to hear what people have to say. are you planning on using it at work or home? and would this be for all "seated activities"? i know my friend had to sit on a fitness ball at work during the last 2 months of her pregnancy because her back hurt too much in a chair. not sure if that says anything but i know it helps with posture too...0

I don't think so, & I've used these balls for like, 10 years! The only benefits I get from them are actually working out with them-I can still slouch when sitting on them. But that's me.0

I sit on a fitness ball all day at work. If you can listen to some music while you work and bounce around it will definitely help. Overall it helps with your posture and balance.0

I tried this for awhile and should get back to it. At the beginning I would be sore after a few hours but I also noticed better posture and less back pain which is why I kept it going for months. I got hurt and needed a chair for awhile and my ball disappeared (We had shared ones at work so someone snatched it) I think I may go buy my own to do this again and not have to worry about someone else grabbing it0

I have a daughter whose lower adominal and pelvic muscles were not working properly. Most of her therapy was working with a ball. She would sit on it and do stretches n it. Using the ball helped to restore her muscles.0

I was doing Gunner Peterson core workouts, and he says just sitting on the ball works the core because of the balancing. They are old workouts, but have been the best thing I have done for working out. But hurt my shoulder and don't do them anymore.0
