Ok....this is my first time, and I was hoping to get a little feed back! Tomorrow is the start of my fourth week! YEAH and I am not even bored with it yet, actually kind of obsessed! I count calories, measure food, and pass up chocolate cake and Girl Scout cookies at work!! WILL POWER at its finest! I am supposed to eat 1290 calories a day, but I'm finding I can't eat that much. I eat breakfast at (7am) snack at (10am) lunch at (12 pm) snack at (3pm) and dinner between 5-7 pm. Sometimes a little low cal snack like jello depending on when I had dinner. Nothing after 8:30!! I drink 6-8 glasses of water a day, and no other beverages (limited my diet cokes with Splenda to 1 week as a treat). Net Calories in a day typically are between 900 and 1050. I am worried because it will tell me I am putting my body in starvation mode. Should I worry about this?
Thanks!
Thanks!

Yes, you need to be at at least 1200 a day ...thats the healthy range. Don't go below 1200 or its detrimental to your body! Good luck!0

mine does the same if u need to lose a lot your body is not going to go into starvation mode any time soon now if u have a little weight to lose then I would try to get close because your body will not have as much fat to survive on and I would make sure u r getting your nutrients0

Try adding in serving of almonds, or even a protein shake will add a couple hundred cals.0

I've been eating less than my 1200 a day and at night I feel hungry. I don't see the problem in coming a little lower than what is suggested.
Congrats on your weight lost thus far!0 -
Ya, judging from what you write, I'd say you're being too hard on yourself. It's not about being Spartan to yourself, because this is about a life long change in behavior. What you describe seems like you're in the middle of a marathon.
Speaking of which: where's the exercize in your daily routine?
Just find something that you enjoy doing. If not the gym, then frisbees or a swimming pool. When you burn a few calories that way, you can eat more to ensure that you get the minimum required vitamines, proteins etc. Then you'll find that life during weight loss is actually nice because sport makes you feel fitter, more food makes you feel stronger and losing weight makes you feel sexy.
Doesn't that sound better?0 -

Thanks for the tips everyone! I really appreciate it......I like the Spartan thing.....it made me laugh after a long day : ) I know the exercise is a big part, but I am on my feet all day at work--maybe not the same as a good cardio workout, but some days there is no time- in the busy life of a single mom! Right now I am lucky that I get 7 miles in on the stationary bike twice a week. (I don't eat back my calories on those days either.)0
