look for a subway, pack a PBJ and banana, an apple, nuts and cheese stick, turkey roll up and chips, protein bars, kashi granola bars, the little low fat milks that don't have to be refrigerated, starbucks oatmeal is great if they're close.. add some nuts and protein and bam. Delish!

I take my lunch to work every day.

Usually it has fresh fruit (banana, apple, clementines, oranges or a combo of those).
    Carrot sticks/celery sticks
    Yogurt
Dried fruit/nuts (cherries, apricots and walnuts)
Tuna in a pouch with Orowheat multi-grain sandwich thins
    string cheese
and if I'm feeling like I need a dessert that day, I'll put in a sugar-free jello pudding snack

Lunch can also be deli sandwich, seasoned chicken, salad with protein (chicken/turkey), PB&J if I'm feeling really uncreative, or left overs like spaghetti and meat sauce or pot roast (some from the last few weeks lol).

I work in an office but I pack my lunch quite a bit. I bring cheese sticks, sandwich, granola bars, applusauce, baby carrots, yogurt, fruit, crackers. I also throw in an ice pack to keep it cool and then I just leave it on my desk until lunch time!

I use a bento box for my lunch. I am posting a link for it. It's like $40, BUT it's the best thing ever. If you pack your lunch the night before, you can put it in the fridge and you don't have to worry the whole next day. It will STAY cold until you want to eat your food. The containers are microwave safe and it's fabulous.

I usually pack a lentil soup, some cut up fresh mango, brown rice, broccoli and a protein like salmon or chopped grilled chicken.

It's been a life saver for me. I hate carrying a ton of containers to work and then having to tote them all back. The food slides around. Bleh.

    Good luck!

I have one of those insulated lunch bags and I stick a freezer pack in it. I usualy bring a sald with some chicken in it, some fruit or a yogurt, a sugar free pudding, maybe a protein bar, maybe some crackers or a cheese stick. I am a teacher and I just throw it in my backpack with all my other stuff that I bring in everyday. I get a short amount of time for lunch and I always have 10,000 things to do, so I spead my food out throughout the day which is better for metabolism anyway.

I use the ziplock fresh and steam bags and I make chicken breast. I steam them in the bag and dice it up. Then I pack about 3 oz. in my lunch and eat it cold with carrots, cauliflower and cucumber on the side. I like to eat crunchy things so its nice to have the vegetables to crunch into instead of my favorite chips or wheat thins.

I try to bring a lunch everyday, or I hit up Subway. Packing my lunch usually consists of Turkey/Cheese on 100% whole wheat bread, a handful of grapes, and a handful of baby carrots. I always keep a box of Fiber One bars in my desk or on break I'll walk to Giant and grab an apple or banana.

Pril2000 has a good suggestion. Bento boxes are useful, good for portion control, and they are super cute. I have looked at them a couple of times, but never purchased. I have a bento meal book at home. It is a very good way to get to know your food and what you are eating.

Aside from that, and I might get some flack for this, but if you have access to a microwave and are on a budget, I am so down for Lean Cuisines. At 250 to 300 calories in a meal, they should stay cold enough until lunch if you pack them frozen, and they are a no brainer. Not the best on sodium, but if you are controlling your sodium all day, then these things are good in a pinch. You can generally get them on sale for like 2 bucks each, so lunch for the week is 10 bucks.

I always pack a yogurt, a string cheese, a fruit and I make myself a wrap. I always keep granola bars or protein bars at work just in case I am having a day where I need something extra. You may just want to carry one in your purse since your at school. I personally love the luna bars.

I also pack my lunch. I found the lowest calorie sara lee bread 45 calories per slice, sugar free preserves 10 cals, and reduced fat nautral peanut butter and make myself a sammmich. I also pack Fiber one yogurt for 50 cals because it doesn't have a gigantic amount of sugar in it. I pack a lot of fruit and usually a sargento reduced fat cheese stick. retzels are pretty good too becasue you can usually eat pretty many of them per portion. Check out my diary for my ideas. good luck!
