This time I'm trying something different....I'm doing little mini goals. I give myself two goals a week one on Monday and one on Friday. It helps me to keep on track over the weekend and also pushes me forward. I've always been waiting for weight loss but now I'm more pushing for it then waiting for it! It's working great!!

My little goals go like this
1. Drink more water
2. get out of the 230's, did that, now I'm working on getting out of 220's. It seems so much easier than saying I want to lose 10 or 20 lbs. For some reason that never works for me. So, I'm doing it this way instead. I am almost out of the 220's. I'm down to 226.4 from 235!!!! It's only been 17 days. So not bad. I haven't even been working out yet. That's my next small goal. To start working out.
good luck everyone.

I now have month long goals - but they are eating related. The first one is that 1/2 the plate at lunch and/or dinner must be veggies. Next month I must wait 5 seconds between each bite. There's a free website to help you with this: www.mindlesseating.org (it's also a book). Just little things you can change each month.0

I do different goals myself, Very much like yours but I did not time line mine.
For example:
I have a list of things that I want and things that I want to do.
split into big things and smaller things. Getting a new pair of shoes, small, day at the spa, big.
getting new outfit depending on the cost, big or small.
and I have my starting weight listed at the top of the chart, and 1 pound less all of the way down to my goal weight. at the 2 pound mark is a small thing, at the 5 pound mark is a bigger thing at the 7/8 pound mark is another small thing, and then a big thing on the 10 pound mark.
Michael has gotten into this too and gets me things to fill my small goals, like a back rub, or a weekend drive to someplace close to go wish tripping... IE I wish I could have that, and I wish I could afford that.
As for goals I set myself, I try to add one new work out each week. like a variation on an old one. and add time to my sprints. IE this week I sprint for 2 min walk 1 min, next week I will strive for sprint 2 min 30 sec or more walk 1 min.

Good for you! I find that setting little goals really helps. Good luck!

I also set mini weight goals, it makes the big picture not seem so unatainable.
My first goal was to get out of the 240's, then 230's, now 220's (stinking 1.2 lbs away) and so on and so on. Each 10 lbs I find I seem to plateau so it makes me think ahead to get moving faster for the last few lbs of each 10.
MINI GOALS ROCK!!

Man those of you who set ten pound goals for your self rock! I set little one and two pound goals for myself. If I had to wait for ten pounds I'd get discouraged. But maybe I'll get there to longer goals.0
