Hi everyone,

I'm a 27 year-old and last year I decided I wasn't happy at 146KG (322 pounds, 23 stone) and went on the LighterLife plan. By October I had lost 8.5 stone (119 pounds) and was just a small amount above a healthy BMI.

Since October I have been putting a bit of weight back on and now I've turned to this app to try and count calories properly and manage my new weight over the long-term.

I am also a member at DailyBurn but their Android app is only in Beta (I'm a tester) and is very buggy. There's a poor mobile signal at my new home so I thought I'd give MyFitnessPal a try instead and I have been very impressed so far by its speed and the extensive database of foods. I prefer to scan the barcodes and add to my diary. I also use CardioTrainer to track my workouts.

I am doing a lot of running to help maintain weight and try and lose the last bit. I have entered the Great North Run (half-marathon) for September 2011 as a goal to keep me focussed.

That's me. Glad to find this site and app. Hope you'll have me!

Wow, thats amazing! Well done you! I have found this site really has helped a lot. I do sometimes have to make myself log in, but I never used to look at the calories on things, and would sometimes just go into a shop on the way past and grab a snack, say a chicken and mushroom slice, and get it just coz it was easy. Have since noticed that it has over 450 calories - TOTALLY not worth it for what it is, so have changed my behaviour. Have only lost 4lbs so far, but hey, its better than nothing!

I'm looking forward to going shopping and scanning all the foods *before* i put them in the trolley so I can decide if they're worth it or not.

Mike if you ever feel bad about anything - take a look at your before/after photos. They are amazing. You look great so keep up the good work.

Well done for applying for the GNR - I love running but have bottled out of doing a half marathon this year. I'm doing the Race for life (5K race) in May.

Welcome to MFP and Well done. I watched the biggest loser on TV recently and it was amazing to see the difference in some of those people and not just in their weight but the way thier lives changed for the better.

I have found this site great and is really helping me along the way to my goal.

Feel free to add me as a friend.
