Currently I am on d9l1 of the shred but I am wondering if I should be adding more cardio as well to get rid of belly fat? or should I say flab..

belly fat has to do alot with what you eat
  • I would add more cardio. I am on Day 1 L2 of shred and I will run 3 miles tonight then do my shred. I think the more cardio mixed in will help. I too have the belly fat I'm trying to get rid of :ohwell:

Gotta agree, the leanest my tummy has been is when Im diligently watching my carbs. In particular my bread, potatoes, rice etc. seem to really add to that part of my body.

It doesn't look like you're overweight. You just want to shed some fat. These two links will probably have the best information for you. Your focus should be more on strength training and less on cardio. (You burn lean muscle mass with cardio and calorie restriction only. Increasing your lean muscle mass - you won't bulk up - increases your metabolism and you will burn more fat during rest, normal activity and sleeping).

I've dropped my carbs some (I eat very little bread and pasta - this includes whole wheat - most of my carbs come from veggies and brown rice and oatmeal although today hasn't been a good day), upped my protein, am eating maintenance calories and am still losing (I'm at 40/40/20 carb/pro/fat). i've just started P90X for the weight lifting. My belly has finally gone down some. The belly will probably be the last to go. It has been for me.

Thanks guys !! I will just keep on going with my routine and try to stay way for the carbs....I think the fact that i have had 4 c-sections come in to a bit of play here....since I am not having a tummy tuck I guess i will keep excerising and try to keep my calorie and carb count down....all the best to all you !
