Getting rid of water weight?

I was just on an anti-biotic for 2 weeks that made me gain 4-5 lbs due to water retention. I am off the medication now but I want the extra weight gone and I want to see the scale start moving down. Any ideas how to make it happen quickly?

Now you are off the meds, since they were what was causing your water retention, you should see it come off once the medication is out of your system. That may take as little as a few hours or as much as several days.0

I second this. This is exactly what I do when I think i'm retaining water. You could try dividing your body weight in half and then drinking that number (converting it to ounces of course). They say that's how much water you need to drink a day.0 -
Drink you water please. a person should drink half in ounces of your current body weight. Example if a person weigh 200 lbs then you should drink at least 100 ounces in water.More you drink more water you will lose.0

you'll be amazed at just how effective one cup of parsley tea is in regards to water retention. go out and get yourself some fresh parsley and brew a strong pot full. now drink and get ready to be amazed!0

It could actually be a full COLON. One of the main side effects of many antibiotics is either constipation or diarrhea. It depends upon how your body reacts to the meds. You really need to pay close attention to emptying your colon every single day.
Drinking plenty of water is a key factor.
When you start messing around with the combination of decreasing sodium while increasing potassium (with over the counter types of potassium), you're playing with something similar to dynamite to your heart. That is something only for the very best physician to monitor very closely.
KEEP YOUR TOTAL SODIUM LEVELS per 24 hours: at or below 1500 mg. if possible. That is the most recent RDA (recommended daily amount).
Yes, tea is a diuretic for some people but you must be cautious about taking in too much caffeine per day. If you admit to being at least 40 years of age, the maximum amount of caffeine containing beverages (of any type) is not more than 2 servings per day. BTW, a serving is NOT a super Big Gulp cola from the fast food nor the Seven-11 store. SERVING SIZE: 8 oz. of whatever the fluid is.

Vitamin C is a diuretic. That's why the previous poster said lemon juice, but I prefer vitamin C tablets--easier on the taste buds. :-)0
