hi everyone! i'm just wondering if the use of sauna helps in losing weight. if it does, in what way? sorry for this stupid question :smile: in the gym i go to, i noticed a lot of women go to the sauna after their exercise.

    I've never understood that. If you just sweat, all your doing is losing water weight...but it's probably good for your skin, especially if you live in a dry climate.

    thanks for your reply :) so, i guess it's the water weight-loss they're after or yeah, maybe for the skin.

    I used to go to the sauna after a workout to de-stress. It does help with the pores in the skin, but I never stayed more than 10-15 mins. :)

    i go in the sauna to relax after a workout........ and i thought the steam room helped w/the pores

    Sauna is a good way for your body to get rid of toxins, helps the kidney's and the liver's workload. Good for your heart,helps your immune system. As far as weight loss it doesn't help much, it's only water weight and you get that back when you drink.
    After workout it's a good way to relax and gets rid of the waste product created by exercise, as a result you will be less sore.
    You can google the benefist of sauna and you'll be suprised. I love it.
