Hey there Welcome to MFP!! What i do when i know i am going out to eat ..I try to see if the restaurant we are going to has a nutritional menu online. You can see what foods are way over your calorie limit. Example..Outback..normally would have a ribeye from there but they are very high in fat ..so i get the 6 oz petite sirloin which is still good and get like broccoli or vegetable medley as side. I tend to look at the calories from the day before...as once the day is over..poof they are gone0

Sorry to say that this site doesn't allow, but if you think about it...if you were under yesterday and go a bit over today it will all work out in the wash (at the end of the week) Just becareful and try to stay around your calorie goal as much as possible and you'll see results!0

It's entirely up to you. You can aim to keep your average for the week below your calories, that should work fine, as long as you don't swing between consuming nothing and binging.
When eating out, lots of people find it helps to look up menus online, and plan out low-calorie choices in advance. Try to avoid drinking your calories, that's what tends to get me.:( If you're having alcohol, spirits with low-calorie mixers tend to work for me - about 60-70 cals a shot. Oh, and remember that you don't have to clear your plate. Eat slowly, and stop when you're no longer hungry. See if you can wrap up the leftovers for later. Restaurants always over-portion things.
Have fun!0 -
Also get tap water (normally free) and take sips throughout your meal....fills you up quicker too.0
