So i used my polar ft4 hrm today. i was on the treadmill i wasn't wearing an underwire bra and my bpm wasn't unusual it slowed when i slowed and it didn't get crazy high or anthing but it said i put out 1001 cal in an one hour and five minutes. i couldn't beleive it. do you think it was wrong. i diffently felt like i burned that but i just wanna make sure that doesn't sound unrealistic because the whole reason i got the thing so i could know exactly how many cal i burn let me know what yall think

This might seem like a silly question but . . .you did the setup configuration where you put all your stats in the HRM, right? 1,000/hour is pretty normal if you keep your heart rate in your training zone the whole hour. I burn about 163 calories in 10 minutes on the elliptical, if I stayed on it for an hour I would burn 978 calories give or take a few. So it sounds about right to me.0 -
hahahah not a silly question i did do the setup i just wanted to make sure because that is just so awesome now i'm like even more super motivated thanks for the help0

Seems pretty high. What was your max hr and does the f4 give you time in zone. How far did you walk / run and what did you set as your max HR for the watch. I just checked cal for my longest recent run 6 mile 1:25 with cool down and warm up 836 cal I weight 153 lbs0

Depends on a lot of factors. Weight, HR, speed you were going, resistance, etc... I ran for 21 minutes today at a 13 minute mile pace and burned 218 calories, BUT, my HR stayed relatively low - my avg for the run was 155.0
-
my low is 141 and my max was 170 and i stayed between 158 and 168. i walked at a very brisk pace and it was 2.something miles.0

Based on that, I think the reading seems a little high.0

i'm going to be using again today on the eliptical and see what it says this time.0

well i talk to my daddy and he said that it was right based on my weight and etc. so i'm just gonna keep a close eye on it to see if i see any dramatic changes0
