Headed to the grocery store in a bit...Besides chicken, fish, and turkey sausage- what are some low-cal (but satisfying) dinner ideas?

Chili is a good choice. The modifications would be to use lean ground turkey. It's high in protein & fiber. It's also a low calorie meal. To really kick up the taste, add some chipoltes or at least the adobo sauce.

We absolutely love this recipe at my house... haven't made it in a while because it's a little time consuming but only about 380 cals for 3 shells isn't too bad! And you can modify the ingredients however you prefer :) We serve with non fat sour cream. If they're not filling enough a salad goes well with this dish :)

I love having breakfast for dinner - veggie omelet and a couple of strips of bacon; or a great spinach salad with boiled eggs, red onions, and bacon with a red wine vinaigrette!

Ohhh.... we also have tried making tacos, but instead of using traditional shells we use a full slice of lettuce. Hubby loves it and we use extra lean ground beef or ground turkey. Might even try one time with ground chicken :)

Salmon fillets grilled on non stick contact grill with grill seasoning. Smallish sweet potatoes nuked in microwave. Frozen broccoli cooked on stove with a little water and a little butter. I use some honey mustard on my salmon fillet but DH likes his plain. I also use a little butter in my potato, but you could try salsa or some such. Yummmm!

I tried two quinoa recipes this week and both were winners. My husband LOVED the soup and I ate from the salad almost all week. I had never had it before, but it is incredibly good for your body and definitely a way to have a satisfying and nutritious meal:

(I added cooked black eyed peas to this and skipped the avocado because they brown too easily.)
