I had foot surgery in December. I went to the podiatrist and he stated that I will have to have surgery again, this surgery will only have me in a surgical shoe for 2 weeks. Are there any excercises I can do for the 2 weeks that will not involve be standing on my feet a long period of time? I know I can do strength training. I was thinking of maybe doing the WII boxing. Any suggestions are helpful. I just started P90x yesterday, so I want to stay active.

Thanks!

Maybe you could work your upper body with some free weights and a weight bench?

I dont know if you go to a gym or not, but there is a hand crank exercise bike at my gym. And it aint easy! I'd bet you could burn just as many calories as a regular exercycle.
If you work out at home, heres something to look at getting.

    hope this helps.

Pilates mat work would be excellent--there are some standing exercises but you could just skip those--if you belong to Netflix you can get Pilates workouts--I would recommend any with Jennifer Kries or Ana Cabon--good luck with the surgery.

I don't want to discourage you from exercising, but I'm here to tell you, you can definitely still lose even if you're not exercising. I have achilles tendonitis and stopped my workouts in January. My husband and I wanted to get a piece of gym equipment for our house, but we took our time picking out the right thing. We're getting an elliptical this week, but I have been lost 14.6 lbs since the day I last exercised. I've been walking and staying under my calorie goal every day, and it's been working. Obviously, working out sheds the weight faster, (I lost 11 lbs in 3 weeks, vs. 14.6 in 6 weeks) but it can be done!

The important thing is to not get discouraged, regardless of what you can or can't do. I know I was SO upset when my Dr. told me to stop high-impact exercise. I thought for sure I'd not lose another lb, but I did, and you can too.

Good luck with your surgery. I hope it all goes well.
