Awesome!!!! Its been 13 months since I quit (for the 4th time) hopefully the last! It is soooooo worth it.

ie: my sister who is a gym rat is in awesome shape....but smokes; cannot do near the cardio output that I can. Even though I am over 100 pounds heavier.

    It is a GREAT day!

How did you do it? I've been wanting to quit so bad but always have such a hard time. I get pretty nasty and b****y.

You just have to want to.
I tried and failed before, because I still wanted to smoke.

A year ago today something inside me just clicked and I just didn't want to any more.

I had been on MFP for a week already, and decided if I was going to eat right I needed to be exercising too, so I tried to walk around the block while my son rode his bike and I could NOT BREATHE! Gasping and wheezing at the top of the hill I live down.

If I'm going to eat right I should exercise, and if I'm going to exercise I have to quit smoking, so I just "did". I can't really say how, I just DID.

I started jogging and couldn't go more than 30 seconds without almost dying.
A month later it was 2 minutes.
Another month and it was 5.
    I can now run a 5K.

All I can say is that you have to NOT want to smoke any more. For REAL, all the way deep down inside. Then it will work.

I know I don't want to. I just have these awful panic attacks when I stop.

    That is excellent Robin!

It was 2 years ago Christmas eve for me. Best thing I ever did. Started me on my journey to get healthy. I am nowhere near your level of fitness though. I hope I get there soon!
