Here's a silly question....

Ok on the site Caloriesperhour.com (which is connected to the Livestrong site which says I should be eating 4230 calories a day--good lord!!) they have calorie counts on just about anything. I have a job where I stand all day and we do move around, there is a thing on the calories burned calculator for walking: at work very slow less than 2 miles an hour. Would it be just silly of me to put in a couple hours of that for what calories I'm burning during the day at work? Like maybe 2 hours for an 8 hour day? Or better just to forget about it and not be a calorie hog? :noway:

Don't be a calorie hog0

Well, you are earning them. Why not record them?0

That depends. On your MFP profile settings, did you select sedentary or lightly active? If you selected lightly active, then your calories burned at work are already part of the equation that determines your daily calorie goal. If you then also add walking to your exercise log, you would essentially be double-counting that burn.0

Hun you should never count calories burned during your activitys of daily living....Thats why when you use one of theoes sites that ask how active you are...it takes into account how many you burn a day when telling you how much you should eat. And if a site tells you 4230 a day...something must be wrong thats over a pound of calories every day (3500)! What does MFP say you should eat?0

Agreed. You shouldn't count normal daily activities.0 -
I think when that site told you to eat 4230 calories a day that might actually be the calories you would be eating to maintain your current weight! You would then have to set up your defecit in order to lose weight! But like everyone already said, don't count them and set your setting to light activity!0

I completely agree...that's the beauty of this site...you only add extra exercises that you do, not your work. Make sure your MFP activity settings are correct though.0 -
I even double checked it and it was saying that for me wanting to lose 2 lbs a week. I think there was a glitch somewhere LOL0

Thanks guys! I think I just needed to be told not to be a calorie hog. I'm feeling a big chunky today so I think I was trying to cram as much calorie burn as possible to make myself feel better LOL. I'll just go do some walking so I have something good to put in there0

I think I must have put gain but I could have swore I put Lose....it's been one of those days I was just really amused by the 4230 cals that I had to share that part LOL0 -
