3LittleMonkeys, I think this sort of information needs to be given without being requested. I mean, really. SPHERES OF SORBET!

They're AMAZING! I keep some in my freezer all the time. I can never eat grapes fast enough to keep them from going bad and I find if I freeze them they keep forever and they're a super healthy snack that satisfies that sweet tooth!

Omigosh!! I know! I recently had them for the first time... they were on sale for 88cents a lb and I bought like 5 lbs. Froze most of them, figured they would work in smoothies, which they do, but they are amazing on their own as well!

You ought to try ice wine, then..... it is wine made from frozen grapes. It is heavenly (and also quite expensive). It is most popular in Canada and Germany. I tried some in Canada when I went to Niagara Falls and toured a local winery. Couldn't afford to take a bottle home with me, though. There is something that happens to the grapes when they get below a certain temperature, which results in that fantasic wine!

So what happens when you cut them in half and microwave them? Because I'm about to try to find out....
  • Sounds delicious! I also read somehere in one of my million diet books that eating ice burns 10 calories per piece, so I'm sure it also applies to the frozen grapes. I have to try it!

    FROZEN BLUEBERRIES? *head explodes*

Something in the grapes and the way the microwave ionizes the juice causes an actual plasma arc across the grape halves and can actually start a fire.

I knew about grapes, but not blueberries and raspberries!

I also like to freeze a chopped banana and then puree it -- it's really good with a bit of almond butter or peanut butter!

Yeah, no one told me either. Also:

frozen ripe bananas make an amazing ice creamy smoothie

galeos salad dressing is rich and only 22cals per tbsp

kale makes a great salad base

    what else is under-advertised?

Am I the ONLY ONE that can't STAND frozen grapes?! ugh!
  • OMG...I did not know this. But,your timing is perfect. I had bought oodles of fresh fruit Friday thinking we would be juicing this weekend, and didn't ....so my hubby and I had decided if we didn't finish the strawberries, blueberries, and GRAPES...we would freeze them individually and use them in smoothies...it works perfect. But, if we have little bites of heaven OMG...gonna try this ! Thank you soooo much!
