I was looking at a bunch of posts on here that were supposed to be about people struggling to concieve but they were all old and most of the people in them were now already pregnant. I wanted to start a new post for people who are right now sturggling with infertility issues because of their weight. Here is my story:

In May of 2010 I married my wonderful husband and the one thing he and I both wanted more then anything was to start a family sooner rather then later (we are not spring chickens). I knew that I might have a difficult time because I had been diagnoced with PCOS a number of years ago but thought that it shouldn't be too bad I had no problems getting pregnant with my daughter 8 years ago.

I decided to start trying right away. I took my last BC pill on my wedding day. Month one goes by not pregnant. Thats alright it might take a few months. Month two still nothing. Month three still not pregnant. Month Four I miss my period Yeah this could be it. Take four pregnancy tests and all are negative. Make an apointment with my doc and they do a Pregnancy test also negative.

My doc then tells me that it is because of my weight and PCOS and that I may not be able to concieve but that losing my excess weight might help. Although he then turns around and tells me that the only way I will lose the weight is if I have surgery. NO WAY!!!!!

That was 6 months ago that I missed my period and it still hasn't returned. Thats 7 months of no periods, although it has been nice not having to deal with periods I wish that it was because I was pregnant instead of knowing it is because my womanly parts aren't working properly.

My husband still hopes and prays that I may be the next story on "Didn't know I was Pregnant" I know that isn't the case. So here I go starting my journey to lose the weight and gain back my fertility.

My fiancé and I started TTC 4 months ago(yes I know it's not that long but it feels like forever) we've decided to take a break until closer to our wedding in July( I want to fit into a dress!) but I'm really worried that my weight is the reason we didn't conceive right away.
I hope that if I lose the 60lbs I want by our wedding it will help when we start TTC again. I've always still gotten my periods although they are a bit more irregular lately but I think that's due to stress from wedding planning and custody issues with my step son.
I've always had this great fear that I won't be able to have children so I want to do everything in my power to make it as easy as possible!

You go into Signature and type whatever you want in there. As I reach my goals I will update it as to the date I achieved them.

but I think that's due to stress from wedding planning and custody issues with my step son.

Planning a wedding can be very stressful. I was a full time student and single full time parent while planning my wedding I know about stress. Just remember in the end it doesn't really matter if the day is perfect its the marriage that counts. As far as custody issues go I'm not sure what you are dealing with there but I know that in my state you have to be married a year before you can even attempt to start the process of adopting your step children. This is what we are going to be starting this year after our anniversary. Getting my ex's parental rights revoked and getting the paperwork together so my Husband can adopt my daughter. Good luck with everything.

It is nice to know I am with others in this boat.

I am 39 this year and my husband of 7 years and I have just decided to start trying for a family. I have PCOS too, and the thought of not having children is driving me nuts.

My periods are erratic to say the least, I have a cycle between 28 days and 35 days. I am currently trying ovulation kits to try and guess when my fertile part of the month is, as it can be out by a week.

I will keep posting and trying on the food exercise and practice fronts
