Working out while sick

I've been sick in bed for a couple of days now, tonsillitis and pink eye at the same time. =| All I can think about is getting back to the gym. I don't feel weak, just generally crappy. So is it safe for me to work out? Has anyone else done this?

I've been cooped up long enough and I want to get back on the treadmill, lol.

I have heard that if the symptoms are above your shoulders you can work out, but if you feel tightness in your chest or have been coughing, you should lay off the aerobic stuff.

    Feel better!

you having pink eye can spread to others , of course its a contact spread but it may be best to workout at home till the pink eye is gone.
    just a suggestion.

I heard the same thing posted above. Shoulders and up it's okay to work out.

    I agree with Jenn
  • Agree with Jenn too, b/c pink eye is highly contagious.

    General rule

If you have any fever you should not work out, take your temperature, if thats normal you can go ahead and exercise but as you have pink eye work out at home...dont share it
  • Yeah, I didn't think of it that way but you guys are right. That wouldn't be fair for me to go spreading my pinkeye around at the gym when some people are highly susceptible to picking up stuff like that (like me apparently!!)
