I was wondering if anyone knew good exercises for core strengthening that aren't hard on the lower back. I broke mine in June and even after the surgery I still get sore. Any Ideas?

You're best bet is to contact your surgeon or physician and have them refer you to a physical therapist. Pilates and yoga are fantastic ways to improve core strength & flexibility, however, you can do a lot of damage if the person instructing you doesn't have enough knowledge about your specific limitations in strength & mobility because of your injury. If cost is an issue, you can more than likely be given exercises from the PT, then check back in 1-2 wks to advance/modify the exercises until you have a solid program that will work for you.

I do crunches on an excercise ball. But that was only after my PT told me to do them that way.

Ditto... only he and you know the extent of your injury and what you should and should not do.

A BIG DITTO!!!! Your surgeon or physical therapist are the only people you should be asking about this at this time. Your back is to risky not to get PROFESSIONAL advice and help with. You do not want to take the advice of people that haven't been through it and end up with your back in worse shape or even worse truly cripple yourself. GO TO THE DOCTOR ONLY! :flowerforyou:
