I'm going crazy not being able to work out and I've been trying to keep in my calorie count. We have weigh ins @ work and I'm afraid I'll not be able to keep the weight off till I can start to work out again.

I'm sorry to hear this. I had a back injury for a year that didn't allow me to work out. I am gradually getting back into doing physical activity. I walk three times a week and burn about 150-200 calories at it. This helps a lot. Is there other low-impact exercise you can do?0

Can you go for walks?0

If you are following the MFP guidlines you will lose weight whether you exercise or now. Working out is only a small part of weight loss 10-15%. The vast majority of weight loss is diet 70-80%. Since you can't workout, concentrate on diet.0

I am somewhat in the same boat. Back in December, I had a patient attack me at the hospital where I work, and it injured my wrist tendons pretty badly. I just had surgery last Thursday, and now I'm having to really modify my workouts. It's been a pain, but I'm really trying to focus on my diet, and getting in as much cardio as possible. Good luck!0

Thank you everyone for your advice. I went to the Dr. today and can do some yoga and it was nice enough out to take a good walk. She said it will be a good month before I can get back to where I was at with weight training. I pray for those of you going through the same hard times with injuries. A little at a time I suppose goes a long way then doing nothing at all.0

Yoga is very good for the body and soul, and low impact.
From your message I get that you can still walk... well, walking IS a really good exercice. Try adding more and more minutes day after day and you'll do just fine.
Hope you'll feel better soon0
