New and Starting exante diet tommorrow-diary of a serial die

Hi all,
I'm new to this site my doc reccommended it.
Just abit about me I've been battling with my weight since I was a kid and since then I've been on some sort of diet.
I must of tried every diet going
slimming world
Excellent diet you lose weight the reccommended way but.......... the fact that you can eat pretty much anything within reason kinda back fired, as any over eater will know, being faced with the fact you cud eat a chocolate bar and include it as a sin often meant for me that you have a bad day and that one turns into 3 or 4!!
weight watchers
Again as with slimmimg world excellent diet but.........again I found it hard to stick to my points allowance when I was having a bad day. I think I've joined WW about four times now and the same thing always happens.
Slim fast,
I did this diet at school and didnt lose much weight, tried it again as an adult same thing. thats not to say it doesnt work cuz it may for others
maple syrup
OMG!! all I'm saying is beyonce knowles has staying power. Did this diet for three days lost 7lb but.............I was shaking like no-ones business and felt incredibly sick
Lighterlife.(meal replacement diet, vlcd)
Diet consisting of nothing but milkshakes, soups, bars and as much water as you can drink in a day (at least 2litres)
Would recommend to anybody, cost an arm and leg, you feel hungry all the time and your toilet becomes your best friend but you lose weight and you lose it fast lost 4 stone in 5months plus you get group threapy " I'm kel and I have a problem putting the biscuit jar down" type thing.
My only problem was I ran out of funds and couldnt afford the maintance program and so, put the 6stone and more back on.
Camridge diet
Exactly the same as Lighterlife but cheaper and you dont get the group therapy, lost 6st in 7 months. Problem after that was I didnt maintain the weight and just started eating the wrong stuff again.
So here I am again tipping the scales at 20 stone and very unhappy, I cant bear to look in the mirror and I wake up each day feeling like a 100 year old woman (not good when your only 28)
My fiance loves me wateva I look like but I dont.
I received my exante food packs (similar to CD and LL) today in the post and I'm preparing to start tommorrow, so as for tommorrow the only way is up.....or down if your the needle on my scales!!!

Welcome to MFP.. My advice to you would be to say the heck with diets and plans.. and go with the lifestyle change.. follow the goals MFP sets for you for your eating.. make sure you track your sodium so your not retaining water.. and exercise daily even if only 30 mins.. you will lose weight!!

It looks like you tend to go for broke with every option - give yourself reasonable goals, and you'll be able to stick to it longer! We're rooting for you. :-)0

I don't know if you've tried Nutrisystem, but it was the only thing that worked for me. I lost 38 lbs in 3 months, and I know people who lost alot more than that. It really taught me the correct foods to eat, and how much. AND they have desserts that are YUM! Which is really nice when you need chocoate! It's like healthy, high protein chocolate, but still very good!

The nice thing about this site is the information you can see. No hiding information behind points. Once you see the nutritional content of foods you can make smarter choices. White rice carbs with no dietary fiber vs brown rice carbs with lots of dietary fiber. Also because you can eat back your excercise calories it feels like there is an incentive to excercise. And remember even after the diet is done you can still use this site even for maintaining your weight. Not a practical option with most diet programs.0
