I'm new......and old.....I'm trying to start fresh and forget all the million other times I've lost weight. I'm still down slightly from my last weight loss go around but I've also gained a lot back....And gained a lot of self loathing to go with it.
Looking for support & buddies who don't "know it all" and can join me on a journey to become a better me :drinker:

Don't know it all - check. I've been on MFP since January and it's a slow journey for me. I'm trying to change my habits but it's years of sloth I'm working against so its taking me some time. I went through the same self loathing but I read something recently that repeats in my mind when I start with the negativity. "No one's ever felt better about themselves by making themselves feel bad." Add me if you like.

I have been there! I feel your pain. It's hard for me to take myself seriously knowing I have tried this before and failed in the end. I am trying to be positive and take this time ONE step at a time! So go ahead and add me and we can work on this single experience together :)

    Good Luck.
  • I think it's great to have a support group. Lots of times it helps when you don't personally know the person on the other end, because those you know can be so critical. Well no worries, you'll get NONE of that here. I had a baby boy 7 months ago and I weigh more now then i did after I had him, so I too am trying to regain "ME." I had been fighting back tears and sadness, and one day I said NO MORE!! I looked myself in the mirror and said "SELF, ..The key to success is determination and dedication, it will take you to the TOP! The journey may not be an easy one but if you have FAITH and BELIEVE in YOURSELF, the SKY IS THE LIMIT!! ...... So ....... LET'S GET IT!!! So that's my line of encouragement, sometimes we HAVE TO ENCOURAGE OURSELVES before we can accept encouragment from others! Will you take this journey with me??:flowerforyou:

I know how you feel. Welcome to MFP. I am new as of today too. Just remember every time we try we are that much closer to
reaching our goal. Don't give up you can do this. One day at a time. I think this is going to be a great support group for both of us.
I don't want to give up the food but I know I have to. I want to live a long life and be here to see my grandkids some day and be able to play with them. Believe in yourself "you can do this"!

Welcome! I am new to here as of today. Feel free to add me as a buddy. 3 years ago I weighed 135lbs, now sadly i'm up to 230. I am going to need all the support and friends i can get on here to make my journey a good one that will last me a lifetime. Growing up I was always the "fat kid" and between the jokes and taunts I really started to see myself as a worthless being. I turned to drugs as a teenager and continued on into my late 20's.

I've gotten my life straightened out and even though i'm 31 now, i'm back to being the "fat kid". So now I have decided it's time to do something about it, and this time legally. So anyone who wants to add me as a friend and help support me thru this would be a wonderful addition! We can help eachother thru our ups and downs in our weight loss voyage.

Gosh, I know that I know not very much at all, so I presumably would make the a great fitness pal for you.

I've joined a year ago and tried "going it alone" for the most part. When I re-started again in January, I was fortunate enough to join a few threads and pick up some fabulous friends along the way. In the end, I do know that I need people to help keep me on track and that I really enjoy connecting with them as they move along in their journey as well.

I'm going to send you a friend request. Friends truly do make this journey so much better in every way!
