Hi ladies!

Today I'm taking an easy day (for me, anyway). I'm missing my scheduled bikram this afternoon in an attempt to get out of the house for a social event. . .

So, I dug out a Yoga Booty Ballet cardio DVD and Rodney Yee's Yoga for flexibility. I'm also planning to do the push-ups I couldn't do yesterday. (I don't know how successful this will be. . .but I'm going to try)

I'm also going to try to figure out how to conjugate verbs in french. (oof.) And figure out my goals for the next challenge? Any ideas on an end date? I sort of like committing to a holiday. . .American thanksgiving? Or should we just shoot for a four week or eight week date?

Take care of yourselves, :flowerforyou:

I say Thanksgiving. Je dire Thanksgiving. (Je pense). The next one will probably be Christmas or New Year. I don't know enough French to translate that. One of my experiences with French involved asking a man if he wanted to take a shower with me - when I really wanted to know where the bathroom was - dang high school French books (bathroom, of course, translating to salle de bains rather than w.c.). After another year of French someone in Montreal asked what time it was, then as I was stumbling to remember the different "half passed" etc, and he said, "oh, I speak English":blushing: . I really should have taken Spanish in college - very useful here in Texas.

So anyway - yesterday rode for 50 minutes, walked uphill 50 minutes, walked after dinner 20 minutes. Today I'm hoping to do some more riding. The allergens are still high, but I want to get ready for the 40 mile ride. I'm off to planet Houston tonight for a Saturday morning wedding.

    Happy Workouts!

Today's going to be a long one! I get off Job 1 at 3pm though so I have time to go home for a couple hours before heading to job 2. I think I'll squeeze a Shred in while I'm home. Other than that, I'm going to stay in my calories and try to drink my water!

Je dit la Jour des Remerciements Americain aussi! C'est ma celebration favorite de l'an. Et, c'est huit semaines (almost).
Ugh, that was awful! :embarassed: I haven't really spoken French since my sophomore year in high school. (except for a day in Montreal and a couple days in Cote d'Ivoire)

I went to Zumba last night - it was pretty fun, and I burned 510 calories. I have never been a 500-calorie workout girl, so twice in one week is making me feel pretty bad-*kitten*. I've got pushups tonight, and maybe Shred. I slept in this morning instead of working out, and the DOMS I feared from kickboxing the other night hasn't really materialized. And! The scale has been holding in the high 150s since Wednesday, so if it stays there until Tuesday, I will officially get to say that I am no longer overweight. Yeah!

I need to work up the courage to collect some of my 'big' clothes for donation or consignment. There's a lot of fear and doubt to work through there.

    Happy weekend! :flowerforyou:

Congrats CP on your weight loss! I hope to see some change for myself also in the next couple of days...maybe weeks. lol
V, I like the Thanksgiving date. That works for me. I still need to work on my goals.
Mary, haha. Your French story had me laughing!

Well, MIL is gone...just left. It's cool out and overcast so I think we may go for a quick walk before lunch. Then we will eat and about 30 minutes after that I will do Shred! Then the rest of the day is for recouping from this week! I still haven't watched the Biggest Loser that I recorded Tuesday!
I did my push ups this morning. My wrist is hurting. The last two days (wed. and today) that I have done push ups I have started spotting. Not immediately afterward but a little later. Not sure what to think of that! I did manage 170 this morning though! I only had to pause for a moment in the last set (50) so that was an improvement from last week.
I'm off for my walk, if I can hurry up and get ready. Talk to you all later!

CP - how can a vegetarian's favorite holiday be Thanksgiving  I've always thought of it as poison the vegetarian day - as many of you know, in the south meat slips into everything - like mashed potatoes, green beans, etc. I like Halloween and Christmas - holidays with lots of chocolate.

MM - be careful on that wrist! Try doing some of your push-ups on your fists to keep the wrist neutral.

Something I noticed today at lunch. The problem with measuring out our portions is: that is how much we eat. Trying to eat mindfully and figure out when I'm full is very difficult when you measure out 1.5 cups pasta, 1/2 c sauce, 1/3 c cheese.

I did it! I walked 2.5 miles (we ended up eating lunch at the park too) and then did level 1 of Shred! I didn't think I was going to be able to do it, but I did! Now I have an extra couple hundred calories for dinner! Yay!
I hope I have enough energy left for my hubby! :blushing:

 the boys managed to get a stomach bug, so I've been cleaning up after a 30 yr old & 2 yr old since 6:30 yesterday. Means I haven't worked out and have not slept or eaten very well. I intended for M-W-F intense this week with either sat or sun off, so I'm potentially on track. I'm hovering at 149.5, so I've got to make progress by Monday.

Thanksgiving works for me too. Sad, but I remember more of my 3 years of high school french than the spanish I took in college. Don't use either but want to pick up more spanish... maybe that will be my next self-imposed challenge! I like that. My new weekly goal will include three new words.

    Have a great weekend all!

True... I guess it became my favorite holiday when my husband and I started celebrating it together by ourselves (before we were married, actually). Sometimes we do Tofurky (my cat adores it, by the way), or soup and bread and sides, or whatever. It's just a nice, cozy time - stay at home and cook all day, maybe watch a movie or play games, and yes, think about what we're thankful for. Oh, and lately my husband's been trying a new dessert every year. The past couple of years were molten chocolate cake and chocolate mini-souffles. I make sure to get my chocolate in! I was never very creative with costumes so I always feel inadequate on Halloween. And, if I'm not careful I can put away a whole bag of candy.

I am definitely guilty of eating however much is in front of me. Or else I'm stuck with the food in front of me for half an hour while I figure out whether I'm still hungry.

Mary, "intuitive Eating" finally came yesterday, so today I've been : eating what I want when I vaguely feel like I might be hungry. I haven't eaten much at all today. I'm eating exactly what I want:
which so far has involved a chocolate covered macaroon and an eggroll,(and other things, but those are the standout "naughty foods" but I'm eating hardly anything. I'm telling myself "if you're hungry again in even five minutes, you can have more." I don't know if I'm eating so little because I'm actually feeling full. . .or if my brain is going "bad food! stop eating!"

Also, today was another complete fail in the exercise department. I'm so fatigued I'm dizzy. Maybe I can make it to bikram in the a.m.? I just don't know. I feel like I'm losing at least a week a month right now to this stupid whatever it is. I am really frustrated.:grumble:

Interesting V. Right now I'm on the chapter about how to know when you've had enough food. Weird concept to me. I've always thought - when the plate is empty.

    Hope you get better
