Good fat versus bad fat??? Thoughts?

I"m just wondering what everyones thoughts are on logging foots higher in good fats like avacado, nuts, olive oils and the such. Just tonight I'm trying a new recipe for a nutty veggie burger and it's 27 grams of fat per serving because of the walnuts and sunflower seeds. In the past I've skipped things like walnuts in my yogurt because of the high fat, but I know it's supposed to be better for you. So what are your thoughts on this subject?

If your fat is coming from natural sources like the ones you've cited, I say go for it. Just limit yourself to that one serving.0

I try to eat all healthy fats.....but bottom line I need some bad to otherwise I feel like i'm missing something:(0

Fat has gotten a bad rap. Obviously limiting bad fats is ideal. But cutting out good fats is a mistake. Your body NEEDS fats, especially the good kinds. It's essential, just like protein and good carbs.0

Indeed. I don't think you should ever be concerned about including sunflower seeds in a recipe. haha0

Bring on the seeds. Sometimes I beat myself up over my natural, organic peanut butter consumption and realize that I've been brainwashed to think all fat is bad. Not so. I don't consume butter - ever - and most if not all of my fat comes from nuts.0

I love my healthy fats. I love guacamole, olives, raw almonds, etc. I'm rarely hungry with my high protein and healthy fats every day. With that said, I still try to keep it in check. I often buy 2% fat Sargento pepperjack cheese. All things in moderation, would be my answer.0
