Ok so these are the obscure movies that not a lot of people are super familiar with.

1.) Love and Sex (no it's not a porno)

2.) The cell

Three of my favorite low budget movies are The Man from Earth, Moon, and Primer. They are all fairly dialogue heavy with small casts and philosophical/science discussions.

Great film...even if it did give me nightmares.
  • I added them all to my netflix always looking for something good to watch :)

    2.) The cell

I too have always felt "The Cell" was underrated. Good flick.

Hmmm not sure if this qualifies as "obscure" but one of my favorite movies of all time is a Korean film called Oldboy. It won tons of awards and was actually pretty well received here in the US too...but I suppose there are still a lot of people who haven't heard of it before since it is a foreign film. I wouldn't suggest it for the faint of heart....or stomach for that matter. It is a pretty hardcore film that can be hard for some to watch.

*shrug* I don't really know which movies are obscure. I tend to surround myself with groups of people that watch all the same things I do so my idea of what is popular/not popular is kind of skewed.

I also loved Oldboy, Moon, and Man from Earth.
I watch a lot of more obscure films but I can't really bring any to mind right now that I adore..
One thing I love though- are films with strange sick kind of attractions or characters..such as Shadowboxer. I loved that movie..idk..lots of interesting factors..with the characters, and also I loved Strange Days..I'll take Ralph Fiennes as Lenny any day over his character in the English Patient :]

Ooo, I thought of another one. Again, not so sure it's obscure but it's certainly a lower budget film. It's called "Frequently Asked Questions About Time Travel"...it's hilarious. Full of nerdy goodness.

Is Memento low-budget or did it just seem like it b/c of the cinematography? I love that flick. Keep watching it to put it together in my mind.

It had a budget of $5 million. That's pretty darn low.

Another favorite of ours. I've seen it several times and never grow tired or bored with it. The way the story unfolded was one of my favorite parts of the movie.

Okay so this isn't really low low budget but Kung Fu Hustle was an awesome movie. If you've not seen it or have thought about seeing it "someday" just do it now.
