Started doing a new workout and I'm so sore I'm not sure if I should continue with the schedule and eventually it will go away or do I need to rest? It just feels like muscle soreness....

it will go away, it's just from starting a new routine probably. I'm not sure of your specifics, but when I first started running and resistance training (hell, even playing in a sports team once a week!) I was extremely sore.
Your muscles are unused to the strain that was put on them during your work out, but they are now repairing and coming back even better!
Keep it up, it is SO worth it. WTG!!!0 -
When i heavy weight train, i'm usually sore the next day.
However, what i found (and his was a tip in Men's Health magazine a few months back) post-workout, drink some milk with a teaspoon of ground ginger in it. (i add some chocolate milkshake powder in as it's a bit grainy) it's a natural anti-inflammatory and really helps reduce the ache in the morning!
Obviously ensure you are warming down at the end of your routine.
But good luck on your journey

I started a new workout this week too, and Jeez, I'm sore too!! I'm really happy about it as it means I'm using new muscles and doing something different with my body
Stick with it. Next week or 2 your muscles will get used to it.
Oh, and if its REALLY bad I just take an Ibuprufen. Which is a synthetic anti inflatmmatory.........lol..........good tip about the milk and ginger tho, thanks!! :flowerforyou:0 -
Most likely you are just feeling DOMS (delayed onset muscle soreness). It should go away as your body becomes accustomed to the routine. Be prepared for it to return when you switch it up
If it is actually PAINFUL soreness, you may have hurt yourself.0 -
This may be weird, but since I don't feel it as much anymore I actually am happy when I get a bit of DOMS happening. Feels good. :ohwell:0

Thanks everyone...guess I'll just keep plugging away......:happy:0
