Hello!
I'm Joe
I am looking forward to losing weight and keeping it off for good!
I do have a question for you guys:
1580 is my recommended daily caloric intake, yet if I check my BMR it recommends over 2000.....which number should I use?
Thanks in advance!

you have to eat less than you burn.
So MFP reduces what you need by approx 500 cals a day, to give you 3500 cal deficit at the end of the week.
3500 cals = 1 pound of unwanted fat!!

Thank you, arewethereyet, for the explanation - very helpful. Explains why I'm not losing very much. It's hard to forego that many calories in one week. :sad:0
