I am new here... yesterday was my first day. It went well and this site is easier than expected! YAY! I found a couple friends but have found that in the past a good support system is necessary for any sort of life change is 100% necessary! So friend away people.... I like friends!
A little background on me... I lost about 20 lbs for my wedding and looked great! I guess I got a little comfortable in my marriage and 2 years later I'm up 25 lbs from the weight I was on my wedding day. Boo! I've been a baker all my life (and love my sweets) but a little under a year ago I took some cake decorating classes and it has become a passion of mine! It turns out I'm a little bit good at it and have since started selling my cakes! Dolla dolla bill y'all! It's really hard to have cake sitting around my house all the time while trying to lose weight and be healthy. My husband is more than happy to eat any scraps that are lying around but I want him to be healthy too (although he is already in good shape)!
So that's me in a nutshell... Oh and the rest of the info one asks on a first date. I'm 27, married, outgoing, and I love long walks on the beach...
Any helpful suggestions? Favorite recipes? or Best work outs? (I've heard Jillian Michaels' 30 Day Shred works wonders!) I'm up for anything that will help me get back to the happiest day of my life (at least up till now).

The food diary has been so awesome for me! I didn't realize that one of my favorite brownie treats was almost 600 calories a bar. I don't love it that much! It has been very eye opening that I can eat plenty of food, it just needs to be the right stuff. Best of luck--this is a great website!0

Congratulations on your decision to join MFP. My wife got me hooked on this site and I have to say it has been a great thing for both of us. I love reading all the motivational stories from other members and I hope to have one of those up here soon.

I just joined myself and am quite surprised at what Ive learned so far.
I too am into Cake Decorating (its my therapy). Im not a big sweets person, but I certainly can relate in many ways.
I started my new job 2 years ago (strictly behind a desk now) and put on about 30 lbs.
Now that my son is grown and gone, I lost ambition and motivation.
Now that none of my clothes fit, Im ready to kick this.
So Ill be happy to be your motivation too.0 -

I know this won't apply to everyone, and it may not apply to or work for you either.. But as far as being a baker and eating the cakes goes.... I too bake a lot. Have a tattoo of a cupcake and am seriously toying with the idea of taking cake decorating classes.
Anywhoo, I can't have chocolate (for health reasons). So when I get to baking up a storm.. I tend to make things with chocolate.. So that I am less tempted to eat whatever it is that I am baking.
Thought it might give you an idea on how to avoid consuming your work
