Websites don't necessarily have control over the ads that are shown. They often key off of words found at the site. Lots of talk about food and fast food here, hence the ads. (The ad server can't tell the difference between positive and negative talk about fast food.)

You can always use an ad blocking addition to your browser, if you're using Chrome or Firefox or Safari.
I never see any ads on this site.
(Which means I also don't support it by clicking on the ads.... sorry MFP...)

BHS Bikinis at the top and Tesco Finest pork down the right...

It uses your browsing history to target the adverts...

I think the ads are what help keep this site free...so I guess we will just have to suffer through them. Yahoo email is real picky. I was taking an online fashion pattern making class and we were drafting a pants pattern. There was alot of discussion on the proper measurement and drafting of the crotch curve. Yahoo got all upset. The next time I logged into class, Yahoo displaying a warning that I must be 18 to enter the site. Ha Ha too funny. So we got around the Yahoo police by spelling crotch with a K= krotch.

I have pure protein bars (which I eat) and cream of wheat. I am sure the ads are based on words in the thread or some such thing.

I understand that the ads are what keep the site free.. but i always thought that the ads are suppose to relate to the website or "target" audience. hence i would expect to see a lot of ads for weight loss and work out plans.
