Makes 14 biscuits

2 cups all purpose flour
3 tsp baking powder
1 tsp salt
1/4 cup shortening
1/2 cup light beer (I used bud light)

Preheat oven to 450
Sift together flour, baking powder & salt. Cut on shortening and mix until it reaches a crumbly, cornmeal like consistency.
Add beer, mix well and knead gently.
On a well floured surface, roll out to about 1/4 thick, cut with biscuit cutter.
Bake for 10-12 minutes.

For a more golden biscuit add an egg wash before baking.

This recipe could be a problem for me.

See I generally eat biscuits with breakfast. So early in the morning I have to use half a beer to bake with.

Well we all know what will happen to the other half of that beer...

I thought the same thing when I made them. If I hadmore people in my household I'd just double the batch.

This may be a dumb question & I don't know if anyone will know what I'm talking about...but are these like beer nuggets? That's what we used to call them when I got them from a place by NIU (Northern Illinois University) when my friends went there. Those were delicious...

I'm not sure what a beer nugget is, these are a variation on basic baking soda biscuits.
