lower belly fat

I have had two c-sections and now my lower belly is nothing but a fat sack. What kind of exercises would help with this?

i would also like to know what everyone has to say about this, as i too have had 2 c-sections and struggle with my sagging tummy . My tummy is also numb, which the doctor said is normal after the sections as they cut through nerves!!0

cardio cardio cardio until the fat is burned is what ive been told. i do reverse crunches too...but i have along way to go before i can even think about toning there because its all covered in jiggles too0

I constantly research how to get rid of belly fat. The bottom line I have found is to stay active, exercise for 30 mins a day, and have a good diet. I wish I could just do sit ups and get rid of it, but sadly I have found it doesn't work like that.0

Cardio, cardio, and more cardio :noway: ....and throw in some ab exercises to help strengthen those muscles (unfortunately you can't spot reduce :grumble: )
I have the same issue. Not from c-sections but I had gotten pregnant, lost the baby in 2nd trimester, then had abdominal surgery to remove a tumor that so lovenly diverted all my fat to where it was, and then got pregnant again - all within a year - so have that wonderful fat sack as well :mad: Aside from wanting to lay it on a cutting board and chop it off (because doesn't that look like you can and should be able to do with it!!??!! ) the best and only way I've researched and found is cardio.0 -
**Bump** I've had 3 csections. I've struggled. I started working really hard on cardio. I spend apx 60 minutes a day. I also use a 8 minute ab video almost everyday plus add in what I can at the gym if I have time. I have lost 2 inches since the middle of February. I want to see a faster change but I'm taking what I can. I also try to stay away from sugars and soda. I'd love to hear what others hear. No way can I ever afford a tummy tuck but scared it's the only way to have a normal belly back. (It's out of the question)0

I've lost half of my weight and my belly looks sooo gross!! I have had 2 c-sections and feel like I have a built in fanny pack. I just started the shred hoping that will help some.0 -
My tummy is numb too. I just hate how it sags really bad.0

It really gets me depressed some days its the first thing i see in a morning and the last thing i see at night , the numbness is strange i thought it would have gotten better by now!!0

Reverse crunches. Tuck balls behind your knees and squeezes while you do them to disengage your hip flexors so you can't cheat ;-). It really does work ! I was doing these at home from a gold's gym DVD and then started going back to the gym and started losing tone in my lower abs. I am doing them again and noticing the results0

I bump the treadmill incline up at high as the machine will go. I can feel the burn in my sides, belly, and in lots of other places. Seems to be helping. I usually walk at a 3.5 pace for 20-30 minutes 3 times a week doing this. Then I fill in with other cardio.0

I once had it due to 3 children and losing 4 stone, I went to my doctors and I was so lucky and had a tummy tuck last August

That is true. You must lose all the fat you can in that area before you can really see results from muscle toning exercises. What it boils down to is that the muscle (even though you may have toned it with exercises) is covered with a layer of fat. Gotta lose the fat first. I have the same problem, but I have not excuse as I have not had kids. That's just the way my body is. :sad:0 -

I also had a c-section..ive been doing jillian michaels 6week 6pack and am 4 weeks in and have lost 2 inches off my stomach..but that being said that pouch is still 2 inches bigger then the rest of my stomach0

Yep...lots of cardio is helping get rid of my fat sack slowly but surely. I never had a c-section, but 3 childbirths, all over 7lbs, I'm still trying to get rid of the baby fat and the BABY IS TWO YEARS OLD!!!:sad: I also alternate from Tony Horton's 4min ab ripper for about 2wks to pilates which is good for the core(usually AFTER a good cardio wkout and relaxing) There are also standing crunches, leg lifts, front kicks, etc. that can be done during cardio/calisthenics workouts....it really takes a lot of patience along with everything else named.:ohwell:0

I'm getting married in about 5 months, so hopefully kids aren't too far in the future, but I still have the belly fat!! And I've heard the same thing.. cardio, cardio, and more cardio... haven't seen too much of a difference yet, but I'll keep workin' at it!0

I found out that treadmil on a level 10 incline or above with moderate speed of 3.5 and above does the magic0

OMG - I'm dying of laughter here. I have the same "fat sack" (first time I ever heard it called that - but that is the perfect name for it) and yes it DOES seem like you should be able to just lay it on a cutting board and chop it off. Crack me up!!!! Everyone is going to have that one spot that is the last to go - and it sounds like most of us have it in our bellies. If someone find what works best I'm interested as well.0

Doing ab crunches with the stability ball will help especially if you don't like being on the floor. I put on a elastic belt ( I got it at Walmart) I wear it when I'm exercising...it seems to help.0

Ugh...I hate my lower stomache! I've never had c-sections, but I've had four kids who have given me some nasty battle scars. I have a "fat sac" as someone dubbed it (LOL) and some grand canyon sized stretch marks that go up to my belly button. It's nasty!!! I am petite and on the low side of a normal BMI but still have that nasty lower belly bulge. Cardio is definitely the way to go so I've heard but it's still there. I'm currently doing P90X hoping that will get rid of it. Now if I can find a way to get rid of the stretch marks I think I might actually be able to get in a bikini again some day.0

Ok So I have two kids, neither of which are by c-section, but I haev that aweful belly fat that won't go away after pregnancy...
A month ago Pure Barre came to my town. They had livingsocial special and then a 1 month unlimited class new client special..
it is a mixture of Pilates/Ballet focusing on ABs, Thighs,"the seat" and for the first time since kids I am actually starting to see results through this program in 14 classes... Yeah 14 55 min classes...

If they have a studio in your area.. It is a little pricey but to me well worth it! I will keep doing it after my new client deal runs out and I have to start paying for price... I love it and as a former dancer trained in ballet, tap, jazz and acrobatics this is my thing..
They also have dvds you can order but I can't speak to them just yet since I just got them in yesterday and only plan on doing them when I can't make it to a class!0 -
I've had 2 c-sections and have this problem. My OBGYN said surgery was the only way to get rid of it. I refused to believe that so I set out to to exercise and eat right to do it on my own. Last year I achieved it by doing cardio, lifting weights, tracking my food and eating "CLEAN". Once I got where I wanted to, i got lazy, stopped tracking and even though I exercised as much as I usually do, because I didn't eat right, the pooch came back.
Nutrition is an important piece of the puzzle. No matter how many crunches you do, if you are not eating properly, you may not get the abs you're looking for. Here is a link with some info:

I know how you feel!! I've only had 1 baby , and he was by c section. I defiantly have that problem!!! The treadmill seems to be helping me in that area, it seems to be "lifting" the pouch. UGHH I know soo gross!0
