Food Before Workout

Does anyone know how long before a high impact cardio I will want to eat a healthy snack for optimal energy?

Today I am eating a banana with natural peanut butter before my workout.

I want to burn the most calories possible, which means I will need the fuel. How long before hand should I eat to acheive?

    I like the Special K protien bars, the chocolate and peanut butter is my fav! I got the strawberry one too, but it tasted very dry to me, I dunno. Otherwise there are a lot of "fuel" and protien bars that would be good before a workout. Protien is great for energy and will fill you up a little but not too much. Bananas and peanut butter sound like a great choice too!
  • Ill have a protein smoothie about an hour before or a banana half an hour before...i heard banana's can help you out if you get cramps during a work out too.

    I've heard 15-30 minutes before. I usually eat mine on my way home (30 minute drive) and then work out.
