Not enough Calories?

I usually eat about 1800 calories a day. So i've decided to make a change.
I always felt like i needed to eat alot, but really i don't. i was just bored.
I don't know if I'll lose the weight. when i click at the end of the day and when i'm done logging, it says i could gain weight for having malnutrition
I've been eating not enough calories. Compared to my 1800 calories.. i'm about 1000 short every day. I just seem not to be hungry. For example, yesterday my dad made poached eggs on toast for breakfast. Well we bought organic bread 7 grain bread which is about 100 calories a slice and i had the full egg and i used Spike (a saltless herb mixture that seems like it has salt but doesn't) then, i wasn't hungry until 4 pm. which i had a yogurt at that time. Then for dinner i had 3 pieces of pork souvloki 1/4 of rice 1/2 cup of steemed broccoli and Greek salad. I pretty much only consumed about 800 calories. But if i'm not hungry, why should i eat?
What should i do about consuming more calories? I don't want to eat unhealthy, and if i'm not hungry i shouldn't eat. I've lowered my portions, but i'm still eating quite a bit. So what do i do?

You drink em. No seriously.
You have to hit the marks MFP sets up if you want results.
800 cals is too low...anything below 1200 is too low.
Check what your BMR (under tools) is supposed to be and that should be the goal you are aiming for....everyday.

Maybe I can help you out here just a little.
Grains, whole foods, fresh fruit and fresh veges will keep you feeling full longer. But to deprive your body of the calories it actually needs will put it into starvation mode which will tell your body that everything you eat it will be saved and you will actual lose muscle and not fat. If someone continuesly goes below the 1200-1500 calories a day. Your brain is actualy the one that tell's your stomach if it is full or empty. So what you will need to do is actualy trick your brain that your stomach needs something. The way I have found is that I do actually eat 3 meals a day and I do have 3 snacks a day and I usually consume about 1700-1850 calories a day. You don't have to eat unhealthy but only smarter. Meaning for breakfast what about a 1 once serving of sliced cheese, 3 servings of fresh fruit for the morning. For the 1st snack a serving of yogurt or cottage cheese. For lunch what about a chicken salad lavash roll up, 1 serving of fresh fruit and a 1/2 serving of angle food cake. And so on. Maybe all you need to do is to devide up your calories that you need per day between all of your meals and snacks What has also helped me is when I get up in the morning I make everything I am going to eat for that day (except for dinner) and record it right away and that way I know how many calories I can consume for dinner.
I hope this has helped you a little. Sally0 -
I'm kind of having the same problem, I got braces last week, then I had a baby tooth pulled today, so with a sore mouth I don't feel like eating at all, or if I do eat, I have to eat so slow, that I get bored with it. I'm having a hard time eating all my calories and I've done so good since I joined MFP in May about losing weight, staying in balance, now I'm afraid because I'm not eating enough calories, instead of losing the pound a week I have since May, I just might go into starvation mode. So I've been adding peanut butter smoothies to my soft diet, to see if that helps, so far, yeah it does. So try smoothies, and they can be very healthy. Good luck, let us know how it goes for you.0

you might also try low volume high calorie foods like quinoa. Its tasty and very nutritious too. drinking milk or a fruit smoothy with real blended fruit is a good way to get those missing calories too. Hope that's helpful0
