Sheryl Crow Concert... did not fit in seat.

so ya... the best weekend i've had in a long time. the only downer was getting to the concert, going to sit down and realizing i didn't fit into the seat. you know how sometimes you can wedge yourself in and just tough it out? ya, i couldn't even do that. so i had to sit on the 2 cm edge of a fold down seat for 4.5 hours. i finally couldn't handle it, so i went to sit onthe stairs to give my butt some relief. the usher came by and told me i was a "fire hazard". i was so embarrassed. so i didn;t enjoy the concert nearly as much as i should because i was in writing pain for the duration. i finally had to squeeze myself onto the seat, and was in so much pain that i started crying. i wanted to die.
i woke up yesterday with big purple bruises on my hips and butt from where the metal arms of the seat jabbed into me. for anyone who has ever gone through this, you know that it's humiliating.
i don't want my life to be impacted by my size anymore. if this isn't motivation to stay on track, i dont know what is...

O, gorgeous....I am so sorry......0 -
I know what you mean. I went to the amusement park with my family and wanted to get on the carusell with the swings (chains) and had to get off because I couldn't fit in the seat. In airplains I used to be on the last millimeter of the belt........
I know you can do it sweety:flowerforyou: and you are still young enough to make a huge difference. At least you are doing something about it, I wish I would have found MFp when I was in my 20's or 30's LOL now close to 50 it's a little slower...... I'm more like the turtle......not so much like a hare anymore.
To a healthy life:drinker:0 -
Girlie...You are 4 pounds down already...You are doing a great job by staying on track and typing up and downs here. This will be just a memory behind you very soon, and motivation to keep pushing you forward. You can do do this!!!!
Keep your chin up and keep going forward! YOU CAN DO THIS!!!
((Believe it or not, this is a big bear hug!))

i'm PRETTY sure they washed the seats in hot water and they shrank.
it's been known to happen.
and just remember, you DID get to see Sheryl Crow, so there's that.

Consider this the last time that will ever happen to you! You are on your way to a healthier you!0

I am so sorry this happened.. and I second the thought: this is the last time it will happen you are doing so well.. and I think your posts of frustration have dwindled so... maybe this lifestyle is taking place and these small changes are what push us forward when the demands on us become great.
You're doing wonderful -- darn shrinking seats -- visualize fitting into the seat next time and use that image to push you during your workouts; cheer up sweetie.0 -
I can sooooo relate to that! I actually missed out on a lot at a nearby theme park with my kids this summer because I refused to ride the rides. I was afraid I wouldn't fit. I rode one kiddie ride with my 3 year old. you lay on your stomach on the flying machine thing. You pull a lever and it is supposed to go up in the air. My daughter was begging me to pull the lever to make us go up. I was pulling, but it didn't move. FINALLY it hoisted us up, but I was so embarassed. :blushing:
My next door neighbor has lost an extrordinary amount of weight, and actually wrote a book about it. It is a humorous and inspirational book. It's called, "The Search for Chairs with No Arms" by Alan Hackley. IN the first part of the book he details a search for a chair with no arms in a restaurant, and while it is frustrating, his description of the all too familiar situation had me in tears I was laughing so hard. I definitely recommend the book. It reminds me to take my goal seriously, but not the little situations we face on a day to day basis. You can find it on amazon.com.

Keep your head up and keep on this new lifestyle. :flowerforyou: I know when my 5 year old neice told me I needed to "layoff the doughnuts" that was my motivation    We're here for ya...keep up the good work and congrats on your loss :drinker: :flowerforyou:0
