6 week blood test results. OMG!

So I have been doing this MFP thing for 6 weeks yesterday. I knew that I felt better and the pounds were coming off, but here's where I really start seeing it pay off. My company sponsored a free health clinic today and had on-site bloodtesting for all employees who were interested. They even had the equipment to run the bloodwork on the spot and give you results before you left.
Here are my results comparing 6 weeks ago to today:
Weight: lost 27 pounds & 3 1/2 inches around the waist.
Total cholesterol (goal under 200): Was 154, now under 100 * the machines wouldn't test under 100, all I know is that it was less than 100
LDL Bad Cholesterol (goal under 100):Was 85, now 52
HDL Good Cholesterol (goal over 60): was 40, now 37 *still needs some work
Total HDL ratio (goal under 3.5): was 3.85, now 2.7
Triglycerides (goal under 150): was 145, now 57
Glucose (goal under 100): was 110, now 91
If I needed any more motivation, this sure has given it to me! I just can't even express the feelings that I had when I discussed the changes with the nurse. All from eating right and walking twice a day. I really can't wait until my next doctors appointment in about a month to see what the numbers are then!

I just started MFP 2 weeks ago myself, and while I don't think I'm dropping the weight quite at the rate you have, I do feel much better. Hopefully the blood work will show results like yours, as mine were atrocious last time.
Chloresterol - 218
HDL 24
LDL 594
Triglycerides - "over 500"
I guess we'll see in a month! Great work!0 -
DaveNix: I think you'll see results as long as you are consistently following through with change. The last thing I want to do is give advice (because lord knows I am not an expert) but the nurse today assured me that it's all about putting the right foods in your body and increasing your activity level. Levels can apparently change quickly as long as we are making good choices. Or guess the opposite would be true as well...more reason to not make the bad choices.
To everyone else, thanks for the kind words. When I wrote this post I was concerned about bragging. But I was so excited that I just had to share. And the responses from y'all just have me even more motivated than I was before.0
