Kind of confused. Goal calories Food calories Exercise calories = net. Am I supposed to eat my exercise calories? What is my net supposed to be? Negative? HELP!
Today goal was 1200, food was 1947, exercise -712 = net of 1235. What does all of this mean?

Well , that means you went over 35 cal for the day .
From what I know , you can eat your goal (1200 cal) + how many cal you earn from exercise ( your case 712- way to go girl!) .From this you deduct how many calories you eat . Ideal is not to go over .
    Hope that helps.

Ok, so I am supposed to eat my exercise calories right? As long as my net doesn't go over 1200.

Yep...eat those excercise calories. MFP already created a defecit for you. Remember that 1200 is the basic caloric need for just staying in bed all day...and we know that none of us really do that...so don't sweat it if you go above by a bit. The weight will still come off.(even if it takes awhile)

Bottom line: Your net calories should be about 1200, but not over.
