How long do you wear it?

Hey, just wondering how long most people wear their HRM after a workout?
I've been starting it right when I begin exercising, and then I usually leave it on until my HR drops out of the fat burning range.... which I guess can be anywhere from 10min to 30 min.
Does this seem fair? Or do you think that I'm leaving it on too long? I'm just trying to get an accurate calorie burn during a workout and thought this might be giving me too high of a number of calories burned if i leave it on too long.

I take it off as soon as the workout is over. Anything else I burn after that is just "extra credit"! :flowerforyou:0

Are you doing it to see how many calories your workout burned? I take mine off after my cooldown. And record. Any extra cals I burn is a bonus to me!0

I don't wear one but I would think I would leave mine on until my heart rate came down because I guess you would still be in the "cool down" phase of your work out so.....thats my opinion0

Hi, I switch mine off as I finish exercise, I'd rather under read than over read. I'm sure its just personal choice though.0

I take mine off when I'm done too...like the others, I figure whatever else I burn is extra.0

I am one who stops my HRM when I stop my activity. The reported calories burned is only an estimate (even with the most expensive HRM) so I tend to under report my exercise calories for that reason and only ever record those calories burned while I am actively engaged in exercise.0

I was just wondering about this this morning too. If I have time, I've been keeping mine on until my heart rate gets down to about 100, but maybe I'll start taking it off right after my workout.0

I take mine off after my workout when I get out of my heart rate zone0

As soon as I complete my coodl down I turn it off.
I'm with the others who say extra after that is a bonus.
I would rather log under the amount than over and then think I have more calories to eat. :O)0
