I am having trouble logging whole wheat spaghetti. When I log in "whole wheat spaghetti, cooked 1 cup, its a little over 200 calories.. However, if I log the actual brand it says 2 oz. 8oz is a cup and that would be like 800 calories . 800 calories seems like WAY TOO MANY CALORIES to eat for 1 CUP OF SPAGHETTI. Can someone help me figure it out ? Thanks!

It was cooked. I had less than a cup of Healthy Harvest (170 calories for 2 oz) . I am so confused.

That is because it is logged under weight and not volume. 8oz is a cup in volume. 2 oz of noodles is measured by the weight as in a pounds. Hope that helps.

the 2oz on the box is pre-cooked. 2oz uncooked generally balances out to 1 cup cooked. The 8oz in a cup is a fluid ounce, which is going to be much different. What you logged was correct.

Ack - that is why I hate oz. as a unit of measurement! Yikes!!

Just go with the 2oz serving if you think thats about what you ate. :)
  • just enter in the statistics from the side of the box under "my foods" then it will be there for u when u need it

If you ate one cup of cooked spaghetti, then you ate 2 oz of dry spaghetti or roughly 170 calories

200 calories is correct. Always weigh your cooked pasta rather than measuring it with a cup.

When the spaghetti was cooked, I took the spaghetti and measured out 1 cup. I want to have that for dinner tonight but a little bit more since I have alot of calories left. I just want to make sure I am eating the correct calories. (or around)

    200. once you cook pasta it plumps up with water. so 2oz turns into a cup of pasta. just like when you cook rice.

You can get a food scale at Wal-Mart for around 5$ and it will really help you out measuring your food...

To clear things up, I did not measure 2 oz. I actually cooked the spaghetti, took out a measuring cup and filled it to 1 cup.
