I am a 20 year old male, and 5'8. with 161 lbs. I would like to cut and i am currently cutting at 1550 calories for a 500 cals deficit for the last 10 weeks and i cant see any significant results for 500 deficit. is it because i am on starvation mode for being too low in calories?

I just would like to hear or see any guys having almost same stats and cutting at 1550 or less. just to be sure i am doing it right.

  • Have you tried switching it up? Try taking in more calories one day and less the next?
  • yes i did go up on cheat days. but will i lose weight dramatically after going up on calories while in a starvation mode?

You may need to look closely at just how you are measuring calories in - as a true 500 calorie a day deficit for 10 weeks should result in 10 lbs lost

If you are in starvation mode and you go up in calories then yes you could gain some weight at first but your body will adjust to the change and the weight will come off. Being a male the calorie amount might be a little low. I think the bottom number for men is 1500. What do you mean by cutting?

If you are doing any kind of exercise you definitely want to be eating more. Especially weight lifting

Sorry, I'm not a male. There are a lot on the site though.
