do you know of a diet or workout that has been working. i would like info on anything. ive been doing the healthy people co. everslim shake, and ever lax pills and green oxygen and so far lost 3lbs in one week.

What's working for me is eating a diet that includes mostly unprocessed foods.
I started with Tosca Reno's Eat Clean books which you can probably find at your local library.
A book I'm reading right now is Tom Venuto's The Body Fat Solution which I'm loving.
I've lost 26 pounds in 2 months and I'm averaging about 1550 calories per day.0 -

You know, I think the answer to what will work (in the long term) is eating less (but make sure it's healthy) and exercise more!
There are so many products out there that promise miracles, but you need to remember that the main purpose for most of them is to make money for the creators, and that they are reallly better off if you don't lose weight, then you will keep buying their shakes/pills/products.
I'm also beginning to think that the biggest part of losing weight is mental - changing my attitude to food, why I eat, when I eat, what I eat etc.
Having said that I am doing C25K and loving the fact that I can run for 25 mins without dying
(BTW, I haven't heard of "ever lax" pills but if they are a laxitive as the name implies, you might want to do some research to make sure they aren't doing you any harm).0 -
I've been doing a ketogenic low carb diet since September 2010, and I've lost a little over 50 lbs. I have one MFP friend who's lost 185 lbs doing the same.0

i dont diet..but i'm vegetarian. and i do HST (hypertrophy specific training) weight training.0

Im doing the mediterranean (im a bad speller!) diet. The mayo clinic and web md really pushes this diet as a very heart healthy diet. I also exercise way more and watch portions with a scale and pre-measureing everything!0

I highly recommend weight watchers because that was the program that I used before MFP. I try to eat raw, organic, and unprocessed foods whenever I can. When I can't I do my best to make healthy food choices. I am not perfect but I've cut out a lot of sugar from my diet. Every now and then I'll eat a lil bit of something sweet. I almost always eat a diet high in fiber (25-45 grams per day), five servings of fruits and veggies a day, and I try to get my nutrients in. I also eat lots 'o protein. It is my personal belief that specific diets or anything that restricts a person's diet in the extreme doesn't work in the long run. Fad diets, pills, and fasting etc doesn't have its place in a long term lifestyle change. You want something that you can maintain for years. Slow dieting is the right way to lose it and keep it off IMO. I hope this helps.0

If I didn't work I would do the 801010 diet which is low fat raw vegan. Basic all fruit some veg and some nuts/ seeds.
So much fruit/ veg is needed ( as u dont restrict calories) that it is impractical when at work!
I do try to have a lot of fruit and am now having fruit smoothies for my eve meal plus lunch in holidays/ weekends

I've done the low-fat, the low-carb, the belly fat.......All gave me fast (and short term) results. Now I am controlling portions and doing 1200 cals a day. Plus exercise (Zumba, Curves Circuit, walking and a few toning exercises a week). I am losing (slowly) but am learning to re-train myself how to eat. I am hoping this will give me long term results.0

I just wanna make good choices. I'm still eating food I love and that weren't so bad for my health.
A few years ago I became very sick and since then I've made a habit of reading food labels: if I come across a strange word or something I don't know about in a list of ingredients, then I don't eat that product. Simple as that.
When you start reading labels, sometimes it's very scary!!!0 -
i try to watch my portions as best i can. i need to get moving on my exercise again. wouldn't it be nice to have some miracle pill that would do it all. guess we all have to stick to the old fashioned eating right and working out huh. just need to focus on my goals and if i slip get right back up. thanks for all the advice and info. i'm going to try some of it0

Paleo.
The good thing about it is that with the healthy fat & protein content (minimal carbs from veggies, sometimes fruit) I can eat as much as I want and not really monitor it. You're probably thinking "no you can't" but you pretty much can because the healthy fat satiates you and you'll know when you're full, WAY before you take in too much.
I'm never hungry, I'm shedding pant sizes/bodyfat like wildwire and my energy levels are OFF the charts.
It's also easy to cook...throw some meat (grassfed beef/buffalo, nitrate free pork/ham, chicken), veggies and a healthy fat (coconut oil, pastured butter, etc) in a pan, cook, DINNER! I had a nitrate free ham steak with a chopped apple sprinkled with cinnamon cooked in Kerry Gold butter for breakfast. Probably could have gone without lunch I was so full.
At first it was odd going from my 6 meals a day to 3 but I'm full and have a load of energy.0
