Looking at pictures of myself...

Looking back at all my pictures from St. Patrick's Day, I'm reminded of something that I hate about myself - my double chin in pictures. It feels like no matter how much I slim down, it'll never go away. I spent the whole day feeling sexy, rocking my slimmer look, and I now feel like an *kitten* - maybe I made a fool of myself?

Will a **** ton of cardio eventually remedy my double chin?? Help!! Looking at pictures of myself is making me cry :(

Just looked at your photos in your profile and I don't see a double chin at all!
  • i don't know if this actually works, but a friend of mine in high school had the same problem... he was a big guy though, and he would sit there and with the back of his hand he would tap the underside of his chin, i don't know if it moved the muscles, of worked the fat away, but his double chin did disappear. not sure why, but it seemed to workl for him. but who knows, maybe it was something else he did.
  • i very carefully select pictures that i post - i'm very self conscious about it :/
  • I remember in Billy Blanks's tae-bo videos he would make you look straight ahead, then look up, hold, straight ahead, hold, down, hold. He also did this going from left to straight ahead to right, pausing on each step. Don't be too strenuous, but remember that you have muscles there that need work too.

PS - I'm sure you did not make a fool of yourself just bc you think a few pictures are unflattering! Now green beer on the other hand might help if you want to look silly haha

I know exactly what you mean! HATE my double chin in pics. I always try to pose so as not to show it. Looked at your pics by the way and didn't see it. Love the tats!!!

I bought one of those "as seen on TV" things that you place under your chin and it pretty much just adds tension as you nod your head (think thigh-master for your face). I didn't really use it enough to "see" and results but I could feel it working. Maybe I'll dig back out and give it another go.
  • that is the whole reason I started dieting...the double chin scared me...when I got down to my goal weight it did go away but I felt like it was coming back with time
anyway i started massaging my neck with moisturizer every night and that seems to really help...
not sure why but I'm glad

I think you're being awfully hard on yourself. You're lovely.

Ya know what? No matter how much weight you lose I bet you $$ you'll find something you don't like about your body. It's sad, but I think most of us do it. I hate my stomach. Hate it. But I'm learning to change that attitude and try to love and appreciate ALL of me. It's hard, but I think you just have to learn to be kind to yourself. Hang in there!

i was the same way... all the people in my family had same problem, no matter how thin we might be, definitely genetic thanks to my mother's family genetics, there is still that rotten double chin.
about 13 years ago i gave up, it was the one thing i really really hated.. so i actually went in and had lipo done to get rid of it. Best decision i ever made for my own happiness.

Not advocating you should do that *S*... just saying, for me, i knew it was something i would never conquer regardless of diet and exercise.. and it made me unhappy, so i had it fixed. and i have never once regretted it (though i never try to hide i had it done *L*, i'll tell anyone the least bit interested about it *LOL*)

When u get to your goal weight, if you still have a double chin, go see a plastic surgeon. He can lipo it away in no time!!

I didn't notice a double chin either, but we all have that one part of us that we condemn and others wonder why.

When I do my crunches the front of my neck just kills me! I would think those would handle any kind of double chin problem.

I do have family members that are prone to doublechins just by how their bodies are put together. Me? I have saddlebags and tree trunk legs! I never EVER wear shorts! My saddle bags will slim down with exercise and weight loss, but I will always have large legs in comparison to the rest of me. I guess the upside is not carrying fat around the middle. Everything gets smaller as we lose weight, too, so keep up the good work and don't let it define who you are!!! You are beautiful! = D

Oh dear lord.............I'm so sure that you didn't make a fool of yourself over possible chin skin! Don't be ridiculous! I can remember to grade school a few people that had 2nd chins regardless of weight status. For some it's just a feature, certainly nothing to be ashamed of...I'm sure you're beautiful!!! Just give yourself more credit!!
