Hi guys ,
Been using mfp for just over 2months now and have been amazed at how ive managed to lose just over a stone with little effort, that was untill now !!!! For the last 3 weeks I have neither lost or gained any weight and whilst I'm happy I havent gained im just as annoyed that I havent lost. There are a couple of reasons Im thinking that have caused my plateau
1) AM I EATING ENOUGH - When I lost majority of weight in the first month I was eating around 2000 + kcal , I am now only eating about 1600 Kcal. Could that make much of a difference ???
2) I have been eating alot of bread over the last 10 days and whilst not showing any negative effects just wondering if its not helping the cause.
3) I started doing more excercise than I had previously (since the 2nd week of the plateau I have dropped back again) .
So their my ideas , any further help would be so gratefully recieved x x x x

Girlfriend,
I looked at your diary and I think you need to re-look at your activity level and maybe reset it. How active are you during the day?????? You are showing an awful lot of base calories per day which may be too high to start with. Also if you can cut back on the processed foods as much as possible. Cut your carb, fat and sugar intakes more also. your protein intake is awesome. and the last thing is water, water, water until your eyeballs float. you might try this strategy for a while and see what happens.
good luck to you.

I looked at your diary and have a few suggestions.
I agree with Vicky.
1) Water consumption - it really helps! Start with a glass when you wake up, a glass before each meal , one before and after workouts (at minimum.). Then increase to 1 1/2 glasses...2 glasses til minimum of 8/24 hrs.
2) Recheck/reset your activity level ( be honest with yourself... this is all about you/for you!)
3) Watch your sodium intake...I noticed you are not doing so. It is important.
4) Switch your exercise around. Do something different every other or 3rd day. Your body gets used to the same old/same old so switch it up. I found exercise difficult at 1st and started with walking....Then got exercise disc ( Biggest loser - 30 Day Jumpstart, has 5/ - 10 minute workouts and alter which ones you do ...They have several other discs out, it does not have to be the 30D shred!)
I also have LESLIE SANSONE walking discs ( LOVE THE 5 MILE ONE.. IT GIVES ME DIFFERENT MILES TO DO; CAN DO ANY ONE MILE OR MORE EACH DAY....sorry caps locked). She is not difficult to do and can progress as get fitter.
5) Eating at least every 3 1/2 - 4 hrs while awake ...eat something: a pc. fruit, handful of nuts, cheese stick, etc. Some ppl do 5-6 mini meals, some do 3 meals with 2-3 snacks... whatever works for your schedule.
When I plateaued I noticed I was not eating my base calories and was doing the same exercise each day, SOOOO , I started eating my base calories and some of my exercise cals back and switched my exercise program around, doing different things every few days. This WORKED for me.
Good luck. Mae :-)0
