Brand new! Needing support and advice on accurate scales!

Hey there!

My name is Sarah and I am brand new to this 'healthy' weightloss thing. I am a victim of many fad diets that simply do not work, and diets that work short term but are worthless over time.

I have decided to drop the weight eating real people food this time :P Instead of meal replacement shakes for everything!

So! My first plee is for friends :) I'd love the support and other people to be inspired by!

My question is, Does anyone have any advice as to accurate scales? I can jump on my scales three times in a row and get a difference of up to 5kilos in 2 minutes. It's very frustrating because its obviously not very accurate. I was wondering if anyone has had any luck with some good scales, nothing fancy like measuring body fat... Just genuinely accurate total body weight scales.

Thanks heaps! I can't wait to meet you all,
Love,
Sarah.

I am too a victim of fad diets..(atkins, southbeach, slimfast...etc) you name it i've pry tried it..but GOOD LUCK! This website is very motivating, I've been on for around the 2 week mark and I've noticed alot of changes in myself. I really don't know what kind of scale to use, I just use the one I have & that's what I go by, I say you just choose one and only weigh yourself on that particular one. Anyways Good Luck & I'm going to add you. :)

Funny you should ask this question because I just checked to see if my home scale was accurate by weighing myself on it and then checking my weight again at the gym on a Hospital type weight scale. It was 100 percent accurate and I have had the home scale for a year now. The brand is Metro. It was not that expensive and I think I got it at Target years ago, but had never used it until bringing it out of storage.

I used to have a digital scale but found the one I had not to be as accurate as the regular one I have now.

Hi Sarah, I got a weight watcher scale at christmas, it it the one that does everthing, but I only use it to weigh me, it is too fancy. but it is on thirty dollars. I love it because it is digital, and marks off your wt loss at .11 increments. Good Luck.

Hi and welcome. I have only been here a couple of weeks also. I love it here. I just use my Wii scales. Do you have any family or friends that live out of town? I have a niece who lives in Phoenix. ( I am in New Brunswick Canada) and her family and my sister who is visiting there for 3 months weigh in on Wednesday. We call it WiW (Weigh in Wednesday). I get up and weigh and Blackberry text her and let her know how I did and then when they get up they message me and let me know how they did.. It's fun just sharing with them so far away. This site here also gives loads of support... You just can't go wrong being here. Good luck.
  • Hey everyone! Thanks for such a warm welcome!

I might invest in some weight watchers scales! They seem to be getting pretty rave reviews... *shrug* Its so difficult! I dont care if they are accurate so much, as long as they are consistant...

And Ms Mouse :) I wish I had some family that were dropping weight! Unfortunately I am surrounded by skinny minnies! Those *****es :P But I can always share my weight loss results here! As soon as I actually know what I weigh :S I might drop into target across from my work this afternoon and see what they have for me! I'm Australian by the way :P
